It's been a little while since I have posted an update on Steve's build, but Norwalk has really set us back. We just finished up Steve's heads and flowed one of his intake ports. Let me state that as we work with these heads we keep learning more and more about what they like. With that being said I think Steve is going to be real happy with the results. Steve is building a low compression deal for a future blower upgrade. So we decided on a street port for this build. My street port basically consist of blending the pushrod wing, opening the valve bowl up to .92 % of the valve and blending the bowls accordingly. I originally was going to use a 2.25" intake valve, but didn't realize that my cutter was loose and messed up the first seat I cut. So instead of replacing that seat I used a bigger valve. SO now Steve has a 2.32" intake valve. Here are the flow numbers for the intake ports.

Lift CFM

.100 84
.200 155
.300 202
.400 258
.500 314
.600 367
.700 400
.800 418
.900 427
1.00 436

I will post the exhaust side once we get them flowed.

I have not because we haven't found the limit yet. I know sounds bold, but we are still finding more and more flow all through the range every time we play with them. So far we have seen almost 530 cfm with a 2.32" valve. To be honest though I don't think our little community is ready for that much flow. I'm not saying that sarcastically so please don't take it that way. It's just 90% of the guy's here are bracket racers and don't need a head of that caliber. For the all out guy's and class racers it fits, but they are far and few.

Got the exhaust finished up and flowed and as promised here are the flow numbers. The exhaust is roughly 65 % of the intake flow which is what we shoot for. This is with a 1.70" valve and 93% throat. We have actually got over 310+ with more porting and bigger throat.

lift/cfm

.100 67
.200 117
.300 146
.400 176
.500 201
.600 238
.700 256
.800 265
.900 273
1.00 280

Notice we notched all of the bottom bolt holes in the flanges so they can all be put in before sliding the header on.
Will these headers fit with the factory frame rails? My 2" Headmans have one tube that goes around the right frame rail. Will the left side work with a Z bar?
If so I may be changing my plans.

My headers will fit inside the factory frame rails. We built them with 2 1/4" tubes and with minor tweaking will fit with a factory steering box. Here are a couple of pic's of the 2 1/4" with 4" collectors. I got your PM and will work up a price for you when I get a minute. I don't remember if you sent me your email or not. So if you don't mind send it to me so I can respond that way instead of PM's.

Thanks,

Thanks,
We removed the factory steering box and it has a rack in it now but I would need to know if a Z bar fits through the header.

The Cam is shiny.

It took one person to lift it.
