Did see Carolyn Wonderland blueswoman guitarist de luxe a month ago. She was paying gas I guess, last gig before heading home to Texas, small club in Spokane. Many present heard she was good, but never heard her, or just a bit on youtube. There were jaw dropped responses and amazement that a world class player was 10 feet away.

She played this (video from 6 years ago)

Stones in June and then Def Leppard in August. I am sure we will fill in the gaps with some AC/DC Madden and others when they come to Dallas.

Last night's concert was Imagine Dragons at the Barclay Center in NY.

Our seats were nosebleeds (Section 226, row 9) but got us in the building - Cate & Clara quickly made friends (as only a pair of 18 y.o. girls could) and were down on the floor in the GA standing area right up next to the stage. Patrick & I stuck it out through the first warm-up band and part way into the second while I scanned the stadium for a block of empty seats.

The secondary market for tickets, now controlled by Stub-Hub has triggered an interesting phenomenon - tickets that go unsold/unused. We found our block in section 108, and made our way across and made our move during the commotion of the acts changing over. A simple wave & head nod to the usher allowed us to move unchallenged into our new & much nicer seats. New seats were directly above the passageway so no dancers in front of us with a clear un-obstructed view!

Concert was great - during On Top Of The World, Dan did a crowd run up the side stairway and ended up directly below Patrick & I - what are the chances? ZERO in the old seats!!! Cate & Clara of course got set lists! Next one is Foo Fighters at Fenway!

I'm sometimes envious of you guys that live around more metro areas.A lot more good shows to pick from.I would rather live in the sticks, but we have to travel so far to see some of the bands we want to see. Most of the time it requires an over night stay just to go to a show,lol...And the fact I'm totally into Blues these days.Anyway we just saw John Nemeth on Saturday @ local brewery.Very good show... Saw Jarekus Singelton a few weeks ago.(one of my favorite new young guns)... Boss,I'm glad things worked out so well for you,and I know the Kids were happy.Good to see some Kids are still into live music...

Default Concert:

I saw Kid Rock last saturday in Scranton, Pa. It was cold and rainy. I got there and parked and walked down to the venue, met my contact and went into the venue. We grabbed a quick bite to eat in catering and my friend had to go back to work as "The Boss" was arriving at the venue shortly.
Foreigner put on a good show and in between sets, I helped move a few people from the lawn into the pavilion as a kind gesture for their coming to the show. Rock came on and despite howling winds and torrential rain, he rocked the Mountain and left the crowd very satisfied. After the show I went back and said hi to a few friends backstage and hiked back to my vehicle and continued my trip back to Detroit.

Default Gregg Allman

Gregg Allman show in Spokane: It was a fine show in many ways. After 6 year drought of hearing him sing live, I went ready to enjoy the show. Points of note for me were the tight as nails three horns (excellent add). The addition of the great Marc Q (from ABB) on percussion. Scott C was really very enjoyable on guitar. He is a class player and fits the R&B & Blues genres well. Kind of different than Allman Brothers full attack guitar style. Band all in all was typical Gregg: he can pick and choose crack musicians expertly, and have them playing and sounding like they have been together years. These Days was my Thank You Lord song. Nice. Swampy Midnight Rider (Laid Back album style) was needed and received. Gregg himself: he hit the note vocally. Perfect singing and intonation, a true singer still hitting the note. Better voice than a few years ago, IMO. He looked better than a few years ago, when after surgery he looked to me, scarey and near death. He looks good, he sounded great, he looks a bit frail is how I would say. What I got is that he is for the music and the road. He has no choice, he is wired to give music. He will be on the road to the end. BB King and others before. He would be better taking the money and living well on some acres and being kind to his body and soul. Not wired that way. The man is giving his life for the music, road warrior to the end. Sure hope him and Dickey Betts join forces again someday. He gave credit to Dickey for writing Southbound encore. Gregg is on the way to Portland and Washington, go see him if you can.

Springsteen (again) Monday night in Albany. The crowd energy was high and so was his. Another great show!

Couple of crappy pictures.

It's been about 2 years since I've been to a concert. The last was Chevelle. I saw Saving Abel at a bar here in town a few weeks after.

I was going to see Motley Crue in Vegas on December 27th, but I had to cancel the trip.
