I have 3 plates ready for cam gears.

Circle track season is over. Got the pontiac to 3rd place. 3950 lbs with driver. Most other cars are 3200 lbs with driver. Time to put the driver and the car on a diet! I need to put the car in the winners circle.

Thanks for all the business...

Scott - I need to swap my -0.004 kit for a standard one. I wasn't able to use the block I was rebuilding, and the new one will be standard. Let e know how to proceed.

Hang on to it Jim, might be what I need. I think I have an extra stamdard set up unmachined yet.

Scott, I also wanted to let you know I am very pleased with both of my sets.
I run a Pete Jackson gear drive and Scott machined both cam gears and did a great job. I don't know about any horsepower gains but I have noticed when I check my Oberg filter now that it has considerably less trash in it. I wonder if it is because of less wear on the cam plate? I have been running Scotts setup all year with no problems. Thanks again Scott for a quality piece.

I have around 600 laps on a 3/8 mile track on mine (some practice and some racing) this year, no problems. wot, brake, wot, brake, is 1 lap x 600 laps. I've beat the crap out of the car and engine and the cam plate setup still works. Car is alittle beat up though. I would also like to hear from others as well.

Over 200 hard passes (7000 rpm) on mine with around 250 street miles. No problems as of yet. Will pull the engine apart soon for a refresh.

My 70 Lemans convertible motor was freshened in May 05 and I installed a Sims plate at that time. 1050 miles on the Power Tour in June 05. 750 miles to St. Louis in back for GTOAA convention in July 05. 600 miles to Norwalk and back in August 05. Countless trips to work and many evening drives around town - 1500 miles. That adds up to around 3900 street miles on the plate. Like I said in an earlier post...no reason to tear down and inspect...

Thumbs up

Scott,

Thanks again for making this plate. I used it on my new solid roller setup and have put 500 miles on the engine and everything seems fine. No need to adjust valves, timing, etc.....yet. Always does the same thing everytime I fire it up. The plate setup was real nicely machined and it fit perfectly. I am running the plate, the composite BOP gear and a 242,248 comp extreme solid roller w/ 1.72 HS rockers. I was freaking out on the 640-650 valve lift I measured, but once the car was running, you can't even tell it has a solid roller.

I love the new setup. Scott makes a real nice peice. Well worth it in my opinion.

Obeid.

Just curious - since I am installing a solid roller with .605 lift (1.65 lifter) and 244 duration (right in between your intake and exhaust) - how it behaves and what kind of rpm range?

One of these days I am going to get mine together and find out, but for now I have to live vicariously through your description of your engine!

It makes 12-13" of vaccuum at 900-1000 rpm with a bumpy idle. You need to feather the gas to get it moving, it is a bit grumpy. I'm taking the car to the dyno shop after work, will post my results later. Last time I made 365 at the wheels with 220cfm heads, smaller Ultradyne hydraulic, 2 1/2" X exhaust. Now I have 250 cfm, Roller cam, 3" exhaust....Drives pretty good on the street, will blow the tires in 1st and 2nd gear anytime...
