Chris - tell your neighbor to "Bite You", then maybe invite him to the new and improved version so you can school him a little.

Next to the pond Jeremy, first house on the left coming in. He's a stay-at-home Dad, his wife works for IBM I think - she makes the big bucks and he does the grocery shopping.
Got some stuff done today, cowl vents went in and a perfect used driver side HO heat shield. I put the rear springs in that I had ordered for the convertible, I like the stance better but it may be a touch high now. I leaned out the carb and it's running pretty nice, might be able to do another video for Steve this week.

There was a stunning Lucerne Blue 71.5 at the race today in Tulsa, VERY nice indeed. Made me think again I had lost my mind for letting this one go.

It sat nice outside the garage - need to look at it on a level surface - but they were the ones for the convertible so maybe they are too high. I'll order a hardtop set on Monday. I'm going to throw a set of honey's on it tomorrow, not to race with, but just for looks.

Chris you will have to keep the rear on the lower side if your going to race. It will probably have some serious wheel hop like that.

I know, just seemed too low before. I've got another set I can try that should make it a little better - is the convertible heavier in the rear than the hardtop?

So here's what I did this morning. Pitcture #1 below is the same springs & setup as the picture in Post #104 but more level & in the driveway. Picture #2 below is of the springs I had to choose from - left is the springs that were in it when I picked it up. Middle is the spring that's in it now - Picture #3, and the one on the right are the springs that I ordered for the convertible (that are now in the convertible) and were in it last night - picture #1.
I like the stance on it now - but I think the progressive rate spring that I had in it may have been better for the track. We'll find out in a couple weeks.

I personally like the rear a little lower than the front; but that just me.
Chris, if Wankers is worth his weight in sawdust he built that motor to take more abuse than you gave it the other day. Do not be affraid to test the limits. |

Yeah, you know it came with a 50 foot/ 50,000 mile warranty, whichever comes first.

My burnout off the trailer was more than 50' - so there it is I guess.
Just to check a couple of things - would the taillight lenses have the ribs like a GTO or smooth like a 72? I had a set of driver grade ribbed lenses so I put them in. Also do the non recessed wipers have the narrower lower trim piece? I thought it was wrong & went to put a spare one in & the holes were only there for the narrow one. It's nice having a complete parts department.

I want to say the original lends may have been on the car when it went to Wankers; but I sure don't remember what.

OH, and not that it makes it set in stone but that Blue GT-37 down here this weekend had a straight Hurst handle on it with the bench and it looked fine.
