I mentioned tachometer accuracy earlier. Yesterday I put my '73 Firebird (T/A clone) on the dyno. The tach function on the dyno has proven to be quite accurate over the years, so I trust it.
The factory tachometer read about 400 rpm higher than what the dyno indicated.

Interesting. I'll check it with the dyno when the time comes. I've got a new Autometer tach. I also have a very old Sears multi-meter (the old ones with dwell, tach, etc). My tach and that gauge are the same.
50 year old factory tachs would be a different story!
