Stock 2 Piece Pontiac Intake Valve.
Did a burnout in the water box, can out idled towards the starting line, engine locks up.
Turned out the valve head came off, flipped over and just shut the engine off. No major damage to the head or engine. new valve and maybe a Piston, but that was a long time ago.

Were these stock sealed power type valves? Some of these places might have had parts on the shelf for 25 years.

If they are SS valves and one broke there is a serious issue. That is a pretty maintenance free engine. I ran that cam on pump gas in a 400 with no issues.
Find a new builder.
There are a lot of good shops in Fla.

The builder will also entail the cost of defending himself . That could be a negotiating point. Have your lawyer send him letter saying that your are suing him.

Yea I was going to say if you dont know a lawyer to draft the paper as a favor (considering it might only be a threat) no lawyer will do it for any less than a 2500$ retainer.

See if your credit card can help you out. Give them a call.

They will if you have another neutral machine shop examine the damage and ascertain that the first shop caused the issue.

Speaking earlier about AV gs. Do you guys just drive to your municipal airport
and pull up to the pump ?

I'm just asking, I thought it required some secret password, or ID to get on to the flight area.

Maybe call first see what local requirement is ?

Is AV gas ugly expensive ? Marine gas is usually a $1.00 a gallon more at marina's than it is
at the local C store. About 89 octane, no ethanol.

We have so many airboats that it sells at the gas stations for $4.45 a gallon.

It depends on the airport. Some have a gate code, others don't. Don't put it directly into your car unless you are cool with the airport manager and nobody is around. It isn't taxed for road use, and you and the manager can get in trouble. There isn't anything illegal about filling up gas cans though, and they are in the business of selling gas.

The industry standard pump lets you dispense a dollar amount or total gallons. It will stop the pump when the pre-set limit has been reached. It's about $4 per gallon now in central Texas. More than premium, but way less than race gas.

About the same price here. I use it when I street drive my car as well as driving to the tech line and loading and unloading in the trailer as C12 runs around $15 a gallon., also use it in my Dad's 67. I add 2 Ounces of MMT to it to raise the octane a slight amount.
