[QUOTE=Stuckinda60s;5009898]Then there are the idiots who insist on going as far as possible before getting over for a construction squeeze, just because they're going faster than the merged traffic. Which, incidentally is slowed because so many idiots like him run to the very end.

OH so true, right lane ends so you get in the left lane and watch all the dirtbags that refuse to get over when convenient for others, and basically they are the only reason traffic is backed up.
Thats it ,I'm not coming back to this thread, its raising my blood pressure.

If I'm towing, I'll get alongside a semi and creep along with the slow lane so that the dummies are forced to slow down and merge. The semi driver sees what I'm doing and will let me merge at the end of the squeeze. Of course, that's illegal on my part, it's considered impeding traffic. Impeding, that's a laugh, it always speeds up when I do it. Even so, I've had some clowns go around me, if it was at all possible
I only wish more people did what did. I do when I can but my wife doesn't like it.

So you know that you're possibly preventing someone from getting to the hospital or to see a loved one in the hospital who needs their comfort. Or how about someone's daughter/wife/mother that is in peril and needs you there fast?
I get out of the way and don't pretend I'm God or a cop.

All of the above is so true, Yet my number one Pet peeve.

I can't stand people who eat with there mouth open and make all kinds of slopping smacking sounds,
I worked with a guy for years who ate lunch every day like a Pig on a farm.
I really wanted to set myself on fire !
After lunch he would start farting in the van, maybe thats my second worst.
Sorry, hope this wasn't all about driving, At least I was in a van.
His answer if I complained was "what ,like you can help it?"
Worst part he was a body builder, I guess that was one muscle he didn't like to exercise.
I worked with a mouth breather who had dental rot. We called him Death-breath.

I hate when people blow their nose sitting at the dinner table or out to dinner. Its like right after they finish their meal they gotta do it. Why? Did ya miss your mouth and accidently shoved some food up your nose?

Rubberneckers at accident scenes on the Interstate. Like they either never saw a wreck before or somehow think they can figure it out by looking at it as they roll past. Get on the gas people! Eyes forward!

Doesn't bother me to have people merge in late to a single file line. I do plenty of it myself. Same as it doesn't bother me when people go thru late on a light, although I probably am in the upper 1/10 percentile when it comes to stopping for yellow lights. Even so, red-light cameras are a peeve of mine.

However, for those that wonder how come there is never a cop around when they see somebody do something illegal, especially when they somehow feel cheated by the actions of that driver, here's a funny story.

My neighborhood entrance is at an intersection with a light. Main thoroughfare goes North-South.

Coming from the East is another neighborhood. The right lane on that side is for right turns or straight.

Only rarely does anybody want to go straight across the intersection from that side to enter my neighborhood. So most cars wanting to turn right can stop on red and pretty quickly be on their way heading North.

A couple months back, my wife and I were stopped on that side, waiting to cross the intersection into our neighborhood.

A car pulled up behind me wanting to turn right. I know it is frustrating for the driver behind me, but nothing I can do. The driver waits a couple seconds, then whips into the left turn lane, goes around me and then turns right across my bow while I sit there.

We just chuckled when suddenly a 2nd vehicle does the same thing, except this guy I recognize.

It is an unmarked Sheriff's SUV driven by a neighbor. He whips around and sets out after the 1st car with lights flashing. I'm sure issues the ticket.

The sad thing is, while the 1st car was pulling his stunt, the crosswalk timer was already counting down, there was only about 15 secs left before the light changed and I got the green.

Sometimes crime just doesn't pay.

I frigging HATE and I mean completely HATE when people refer to a distributor as a dizzy.

It's a Goddamn distributor not a dizzy. I always imagine that nickname came from some Vanilla Ice looking dude with his pants hanging down around his ass and his hat turned 3/4 sideways looking like a punk.

Well call me an idiot then. I use every inch of a usable lane in those conditions. Why would I purposely wait in a line? Nonsense. It's the funnel theory... ride the edges all the way in!

Oh boy, isn't that the truth! I refuse to even patronize towns that utilize them. Sigh...

Fine, you're an idiot, an inconsiderate one. If it's possible to easily merge at the end, then fine. The problem comes when there's a line at the merge and idiots just keep stacking up because it's the shorter line. If people were smart enough to merge when they can instead of trying to go a couple of hundred feet further, then no one would have a 20-minute wait to get through the bottleneck.

Funnel theory? You mean like what happens if you continue to pour at the same rate into a funnel when it starts backing up?

Biggest pet peeve right now is, all the BS paperwork (2 hours worth) you have to fill out just to make a freaking offer on a house, only to find out in two seconds in a phone call the seller has not accepted the offer. WTH? really? I mean really? What a joke the real-estate business is!! Why can't you just meet the seller and ask straight up! What's the bottom line? But NOooooo God forbid a buyer speak to a seller DAMN!! I hate the process!

People blocking lanes are highly inconsiderate and self centered egotists. There's always one or two in the world who think they're the policeman and know what other people are intent on doing.
Close by my house the interstate goes by. Approaching my exit in either direction there are two lanes that exit. So hugging the far right lane is a mandatory exit. The next lane over is an either exit/or not lane. Frequently some idiot (from out of town usually) decides people are using those lanes to break line because he doesn't know that far right lane exists by mandate. So they want you to wait behind them and then THEY have to merge left out of that lane to continue down the interstate. So they intentionally slow traffic on the entire interstate making the situation worse. They're even blocking those who decide to get off and take the major city route instead of the I-state which further bottlenecks the interstate since they can't get off.
