So many standouts, love hard drivin' melodic. Top of the heap...Dylan & Rush.
Such powerful lyrical and musical combos eg. Like A Rolling Stone, Countdown. Will never tire of listening to them.

Music was a huge thing back when I was in HS, lots of friends played in bands. Everyone walked the halls wearing rock shirts that were purchased at concerts. All the bands mentioned above were popular but the one song that reminds me most of my HS years is RUSH-Tom Sawyer.

One song?
I dunno lemme think a second, probably Zero the hero from Black Sabbath's "Born Again" LP. And yeah we still bought & played LP's back then,LOL. We would also be sure to copy the new LP's to cassettes for boombox use as well. Then high speed copy that cassette tape to pass around amongst friends and such. Ahhh the good old days before all the DRM bull$#!T we have nowadays. Bret P. |

Four Seasons, Jay and The Americans, Roy Obison, Gene Pitney, The Temptations...... ect ect. Just about anything before June of 68 reminds me of the Good 'ol Days. Yeah, I'm old too.

GREAT SONG!
Jr. High would have been D.R.I - Beneath The Wheel (remember listening to it everyday on the bus) High school it would have been Bad Religion, Social D, Ramones, ect. any number of old cool punk/hardcore bands that most of you guys wouldn't know. The band D.I. really comes to mind, We got into a 17+ show of theirs when I was 16 and my wife was 15. We went just to stand by the door to listen, a bouncer came out and asked if anyone knew how to fix a distortion pedal. My friend jumped up and said sure. So they let us in for free, we fixed the pedal and hung out all night with Casey Royer who used to play drums for Social Distortion and sung for DI and a few other bands. I guess that is what I think of when I hear: "Well High school seemed like such a blur. I didn't have much interest in sports or school elections. And in class I dreamed all day bout a rock and roll weekend." Dang we used to have fun! |
