Sounds like I'll stick with a split and if I have time I'll call Tim tomorrow.

That’s a very Cool car!

The bleed rate is poor on one lifter. Personally I would switch out the lifter that is creating the noise. I think that type of noise is what Paul K was referring too on his post. The ticks all the time lifter is a more obvious example, but the heat soaked ticker, and low RPM ticker really should get replaced too. At low RPM’s the loud lifter is bleeding down to much.

230/236 .520”…. I assume that is a comp XR cam. The duration is mild, but the 52* intensity of the cam is not at all mild. 50* is about the most aggressive there is on HR’s. The 50* to 53* intensity cams (.006” tappet to .050”), Lunati Voodoo, comp XR’s, ect…have a lot of acceleration early/late in the profile off and on the base circles. 54* to 60* intensity cams can have issues too, but generally operate quieter than the 52* and don’t need quite such a razor edge bleed rate. The engine mention in this thread with the quiet Bullet cam with Morel lifters was probably a 54* to 60* intensity …makes a difference.

my comp 857's seem noisy when fully heat soaked, but they all sound the same with a stethoscope.
