Travis, you missed the guy that designed the first after market block, I am surprised he did not commit suicide or sue anybody with all the bad ink he got.
I think my team should be on the fast list. We always ran faster than the Chev's in T/S with equal sized motors or bigger and we raced for 2 seasons, with out major problems. What a great crew and driver I had!!!! What does it mean if you (I don't mean you and Rodney) just come out for Norwalk and never race until the next years Norwalk race. You break at that race and don't race again. You don't even have a class or # on your car. What kind of race car is that??? Will be pretty hard to sell those motors or parts , don't you think!!! Travis, I agree with you 99% on this.
I will add, that when Bruce Maichle brought BES into the Pontiac world things changed in the 3000lb + NA racing. Langer took over from Bruce, along with Rex and now many others. That original meeting changed Pontiac racing forever. |

It's difficult for me to imagine the cam profiles involved to create valve collision. I don't know the lift values for the KRE hemi heads (for collision), but they looked to me to be improved in that respect over "old" hemi design, like my M/T heads (60 degrees between valves). And I recently mocked up mine specifically for that purpose- my valves would need to be simultaneously open .230" each. The cam profiles I've chosen (aiming for peak HP @ 9,000 RPM) won't come anywhere near colliding my valves. Yes, this will be a small engine (182 c.i. four-cylinder) with small valves (2.030", max.lift .650"). But even for an engine of, say, 600 c.i. with large valves (~2.400", ~1" lift), I have trouble picturing both valves being open (during overlap) that much (or maybe more on the KRE?).

3fastgtos and Eric, I was not talking about you guys. I am pretty sure that Travis and Rodney know who I would be talking about, (_ _ _). I am not sure I would know you guys or you guys know me, if you guys would know me, it only be from Norwalk. I would not know if you guys(3fastgtos and Eric) had a business that sold motors and or parts. Sorry for confusing some of you guys out there. On a lot of these threads and posts you have to know the story behind them and be able to read between the lines. I have had some good conversations with Curt and if you read all of his posts carefully you still might not know what he is exactly talking about. Again sorry, Maurice PS, this hoilday time off is sure getting me in some trouble!!! |

Stallion, no need to apologize. I was just kind of stating that there's no class I can run in( and that I left broke) I've always wanted to run in the Frantic Four so since 2013 was my first time ever at Norwalk I was looking forward to it. Then I get there and the rules say that I have to have doors. I totally understand the rules and should have read them before I went. That being said I still had fun and got to pit right next to Travis and Rodney (thanks Rodney, we're looking forward to grilling some more steaks for you guys).
I'm now looking forward to some side by side action with The Boss Bird. SD |

Agree Stallion...no need to apologize. I know who you were referring to. Steve and I took it in another direction to lighten things up.

Tigers could be made solid but I was trying to get away from standard pontiac exh ports. Tried to see if I could get a set of RAV's billets from Elarson. I understand why they wouldnt sell. Never heard of the company that Jack used so I missed the boat on that one or I would have been game. I think Roland offer a billet cv1 after i purchased my cv-1's. KRE wouldnt respond to two of my emails and I left a message to discuss their heads with no call back. I think this was option was the best possible option for me but they didnt respond This thread is a prime example why I dont care to get on here anymore. Travis made the mistake of trying to compliment advances and it "seems" like some took offense they didnt get on the "list". Others just whine and moan. For me to be competitive "I believe" Im getting my engine sorted out then switching to BBC. Much easier to get support and buy parts that have some data behind them. |
