Hey Karl ………..
"it's Me" ! I see your picture of your "broken exhaust manifold" . ……………….. so, Look up " Marine - Tex " ……… a two part mix , "thick putty kind of paste" , and I've used it for years : to patch 'gas tanks' , Big electric motors , AirPlane Props ( wood two blade props - - for "air boats" ) . So as thick as the broken spot , I think it would work (for a 'cruiser motor' ) , if "the broken area IS CLEANED properly " . . . . . . and would be worth a try. We used this stuff back in my body shop days - - - mostly too repair those front "Fiber-glass Header Panels" on the Olds 88 & 98 , some boats , ect. Last time I looked it was $$$$ , so look at it , and if nothing else - - - it would work until you could find a replacement. I buy the Gray Product in a Qt. size can ………………………….. and, on the older cans - - - the label even stated : can repair "cracked engine blocks" . Keep clean & sealed - - it will last for 5 - 7 years. http://marinetex.com/products/marine...x-epoxy-putty/ I'm just saying . . . . . jim - - - - (it's been my "go - to " product for years ) . |

Also, I have used "Marine Tex " on my Nova Gas Tank to plug a hole , back in 2010 (still there & NO LEAKS) .
I have my Dads old 53 International p/u that I had cut open the side of that gas tank , for repairs, and "patched that tank - - - back in 1978 , at that body shop" . I even tried "fiberglass tank repair kits" for patching fuel tanks - - - - - they Do - Not hold up = = = = = = = = This stuff WORKS . THAT's 40 PLUS Years on my IH gas tank …………………………………. and, it's hard too find something that holds-up to 'gas tank repairs' . . . .. been there . Just clean your part GOOD , and MIX Properly …………. build it up higher / thicker , and machine or sand down too correct level . jim |

maybe a bit too early compared to the status of the rest of the car, but Slavko, my mate from the upholstery shop has same time and started with the work on the bench seats!
the additional wire will/shall improve the stability both seats will get more lateral guidance front bench seat: rear bench seat: He is doing a lot of jobs for vintage Porsches and therefor he has access to original Porsche fabrics. So we decided to use Porsche Pepita for the middle section and black leatherette for the rest - will almost look like new from Willow Run delivered |

A 1973 F body Camaro or Firebird would be a FRONT STEERING car. A 1973 NOVA / Omega / VENTURA / APOLLO would be a rear steer car. 1975 is the magic year for X bodies because they will now become front steer like the F body cars and have wider tracks. 1973 Omega has a 59.1" front track 1975 Omega has a 61.3" front track 1973 Camaro has a 61.3" front track 1973 Omega / Nova is still using the old front sub assy. that goes back to 1968, When the 2nd gen Camaro/Firebird came out in 1970 the sub assy was changed slightly to be a front steer and a wider track for the new bodies and better stability control. Also the rear axles changed as well giving the F / body cars a 60" rear track and X bodies a 59" rear track compared to the 1973 Omegas 58.8 rear track. Last edited by U47; 04-12-2020 at 04:57 PM. |

took a bit but today the first parts for the ohc6 rebuild popped up.
even if all orders where on the same container from TX to Germany, Jerry and his parts made the race! Quite happy that I got Jerry named here, was lucky to do business with him - very easy and successful! |

Is there a clearance issue for the front of the engine with the 68+ Xbody hood the way there apparently was with the 70-81 F body hood?
