Yeesh! Looks like our weather from two weeks ago made it to you. With any luck, you'll get our weather that immediately followed it - a record breaking streak of days in the 70s. Thanks gentlemen, I appreciate your words. It was kinda crazy how many birds showed up in my apple tree last night, and I'd decided to eat dinner on the deck next to it and brought my camera out with me just in case.

That first bird is a House Finch. I have a pair that nests in my carport every year. They are excellent 'singers'. The other is a Black Capped Chickadee...or Carolina Chickadee depending on where you live, north or south. The third one I can't make out. The last one is a Pine Warbler I believe. Kind of a bird observer here...Very nice photos!

I've thought about putting this sort of engine in a mid-60s Rambler American - with such a light little car, it could be fun.

Boat Anchors
Bouy anchors to be accurate but surprised me to see these at a pier in California last week. I don't think the bouys were going to drift!

I have heard of some engines referred to as "boat anchors" but I thought they were just kidding.

Thanks Will
It was a blast to drive, I also made the T 400 a floor shift using a Buick Gran Sport console but don't have a pic of that. Would have been even neater with a His and Hers , which I guess could have been ordered on Hurst Jeepsters with the Buick 225 T 400 combo Even with it being a Mild pump gas Pontiac 455, it was pretty quick and responsive with the stock 3.73 gears and a weight of ~2800lb including driver. That is one I miss. |

This is the part your picture that reminds me of GTMO. The anchor was a complete axle assembly. I tried to identify what axle or was, it looked like a Dana, but I couldn’t get close enough to see it for sure. I’ll try to find a picture from that deployment, it was during the same timeframe when the Waco Siege occurred, in April 1993.

When I saw that I thought that for every one of those there was once someone who walked into a dealership anticipating the purchase and all the joy of their shiny new vehicle. There has to be the lyrics for a country song in there somewhere.

This is being delivered to the owner soon, so today I took it for a short test drive. I’m impressed with the car’s handling and power.
