No they didn't! Qualifiying was closed for the Frantic Four and the Heads UP race. There was going to be 2 qualifiying passes for the Quick 16 today. There was no Quick 16 passes made on Friday. You heard wrong. I was there.

Brian - Thanks for the updates, keep them coming. I was disappointed that I had to return home before this event.

B/T/W, a friend of mine did all of the graphics on the Magicar that you posted a picture of. The car is owned by Bill Pitts from Carlsbad, CA.

Who's that "Old Man" in Pitts' car?

The 6.63 pass that Rob Bruce made in the "Dirty Bird" today was its first pass of the weekend and was done during Q16 qualifying. Sorry you heard wrong and left early Flyin'. Bob called and said "we got beat by GTOGeorge" and then had to hang up. Don't know what the times or dial-ins were but it sounds like GTOGeorge put the "Dirty Bird" on the trailer in round one of Q16. Good going, George!

Hey Brian , what about all the N/A horsepower cars? Frank G. , Scott Rex , Langer. Got any details? What about a qualified list for Q16? Thanks, John

Bob was in a hurry when he last called, and it was noisey in the background so hearing him clearly was difficult, but I thought he said that AllPontiac cars were qualified 1, 2, 3 on the door car side of the Q16. Will see if I can get his attention in a bit.

Default Track Conditions

Scotts Weather-o-meter had like 3000 feet, 29.9 humidity, 94 degrees...had cross wind too! Yea it was poor racing weather, but I had a great time seeing all my friends that I missed last year...and there were great cars everywhere!

they did close the heads up and refunded I believe 3 cars that did not qualify fri. That left us with a 7 car field.Jeff had the semi covered and had a shifter cable problem and left in 2nd gear. That winner went to the final agaist Pickett and lost. The best race was Pickett and Johnson,a 8.850 and 151.87 to a loosing 8.942 and 150.00.REALLY bummed that they did not let the 3 cars make a pass and have that be their qualiying placement.Tiemann was one of them refunded.Tom

I had some funny at Georges expence.

Take a closer look at Rob's picture of the back window of Georges car. Is that a Allpontic sticker?

Damn sure is.

My best this weekend was a 7.54. The track surface was not good like it usually is and the air sucked. I went 7.47 last week at Cecil (2700ft DA 90 deg)

On the Q16 qualifying pass (I only made one) my electric shifter didn't shift and the engine hit the 8500 rpm chip for a bit until I manually shifted it, hence the 7.79.

On the first round elimination of the Frantic Four I broke the ring and pinion on the burnout, ending my day.

It was great to see everyone and a big thanks to Bob and Frank from Allpontiac.com and John Welter for his help on Saturday.
Great seeing the Campolucci guys. That's a beautiful GTO......

I have videos of the Dirty Bird passes, I'll post them when I get home tomorrow.
