Yes. Per the instructions, skip the threads at the end, I applied the sealant about 1/3 way from the carb end, but I did go all the way around the fitting instead of the recommended 3/4 turn.

Yep, that is what I did. The stuff works great so far, and it is made for that per the packaging, along with some other specific, important duties like brake fittings.

My wife is taking the GTO out solo today to pick up some friends from out of town who are visiting. The LocTite sealant is working fine so far, and running better since I turned both center carb idle mixture screws out a lot.
There's a handheld fire extinguisher in each of our 2 classic cars, but I am impressed with the LocTite so far, and when I send the Rochesters out to Dick B. for additional modifications, I will get the fuel fitting threads fixed then. |
