Oh, and one of my pet peeves is off-white white letters and ugly brown sidewalls . . .

The best way I've found to make 'em bright-white and pure black is a bristle brush and Ajax or Comet, and lots of elbow grease. NO tire shine ever, please! Example attached.

It is so funny you mentioned that. My painter asked me if it was supposed to be black in there or blue on Saturday and I got ahold of Pat right away and got the question answered ! I appreciate you thinking of me there.

I can promise you the tires will always be clean! Lots of practice over the last few decades

It is always that clean !

Jody

Jody.....the car looks very very nice! Are you going to reinstall the rear spoiler?

Jody.......I am going to resurrect an old thread about the front grill color. PB and I have went round and round on whether or not the front grill egg crate should be black. I personally think the egg crate grill on your car should not be blacked out. Just my two cents, but either way the car looks fantastic.

I agree with the silver grill inserts. BTW: That has to make you a proud owner looking like that!

As much as I LOVE them, Mark W. talked me out of it. He was right. He is a purist and if I was going to repaint it I figured this would be the time to take it off.

As far as the grill goes, John, you are right. I did not know that. I just asked PB and he said silver also. I have the car there for another couple days......just wondering if I should change it.....

Thoughts......?

Mike, thanks. Feeling pretty proud .

Thanks everyone !!!!

Jody.....I am soooooo very happy you made that decision. Your car looks great without the rear spoiler.

As far as the grill you probably need to find a gun metal gray color (flat to semi-gloss) to spray the egg crate to make it look natural. See pic and article of Bill Nawrot's car on the Grill thread to get a good match.

I like it. Much better and original looking now. The eggcrate will look darker when you take the car outside, especially when contrasted against the black background of the radiator.
