The radiator top plate was fabricated by a friend of the builder. Dash is original. Good luck with the build of the '71. Jim Last edited by napster; 02-11-2021 at 10:27 PM. |

Yeah, I', going with a House of Kolour 'Organic Green Kandy B/C shimrin2' , it's a variation of a British Racing Green.
https://tcpglobal.com/products/hok-c...iABEgIebPD_BwE I could use one of those rad top plates to get me by for a while, think he'd do another and ship? My source for fab stuff/equip dried up. I have a good dash, but would have to dye it, would rather buy a repop. How did the March setup work out for you? Any alignment issues or comments? I'm going to wait until I get a ways into the project before I start a thread, but will start a thread. I'm following! Love the build and you attention to detail, as usual! .

Bob Schmus Cruisers Motorsports 39 Federal Road Danbury, CT 06810 (203)744-8863 That color you picked out is very nice. Wait till you get the car out in the sunlight. It will be bright and sharp!! The March pulley system is great. Just put the pulley system on before the engine goes in. I have the same system on my '70 GTO and the builder put it on when the engine was in the car. Turned out to be a real pain. Lesson learned and this one was put on before the engine was installed. Provide a week to put it together. No alignment issues. Just had to get a slightly smaller belt then what was provided. The first belt squeaked and the tensioner was out as far as it would go. The smaller belt solved the problem. Thanks for the comments and can't wait to see your build. |

As far as the radiator top plate goes here is one that I bought from Jegs - I think it might have been for a Chevelle?

I've heard some of the March setups are not fun when in the car. Unfortunately, I won't have a choice. But think I will take a shot at it anyway. .

Ask Bob about the March pulley system. He is the one that installed it in both cars. |

Are you happy with the griffin radiator/fan set up in your GTO? My 70 has been running hotter and hotter over the years. I think the cheap summit rad and fans are wearing out after 10 years.
The cold case radiator and Derale fans keep my 66 GTO at 180 all day |

I went with the conventional coolant and water wetter for the '73. I didn't want to add an extra 10 to 15 degrees to an already harder car to cool. Due to less area to let air in and a bigger engine. 496 in the '73 vs. 461 in the '70 GTO. |

I didn't think I would post these videos, but I said what the heck. First one is the day It was delivered. The second is a walk around. Please excuse the look of the car I didn't have a chance to clean it. Those are white lettered BFG's. The shaker still has the old 455 decal and was removed to make room for the SD-496. Hood bird also needs to be installed. See previous pixs posted for the bird and callout install.

Quick question, where did you source the door handle color coded stickers?

Two questions: First, trying to decide between the CVF and March systems, and wondering what influenced your decision? Second, how did you get the engine call outs made?

I just watched the videos- such a fantastic car! I love the garages as well!
The motivation from this thread worked- for the first time in years my 72 is off the lift and ready to take a drive today. |

Had to have the '73 taken back to the shop to have a few bugs taken care of. Made this video of the car and the first time with the car showing the new hood bird and engine call out. I think the hood bird and engine callouts really change the personality of a car that was already mean. Pontiac knew what is was doing.

Texas T/A Mufflers. Thanks for the comment. Funny, right after I stopped the video the guy driving the car on to the trailer(builder of the car) said the same thing. He wants a set of the mufflers for his 1970 GTO.
