Yes Bob.......... it's going to Wing. It's gonna be an overly fine build.
http://www.wingsautoart.com/projects/73ta_sd/ Scott is not taking on new projects right now. I believe John said he has a 3 year backlog of work. Last edited by Larry Navarro; 12-10-2013 at 09:35 AM. |

Good to see another 73 SD in the area...It has to be the highest concentration of 73 SD if we include IL, MI, IN as an area.

Perhaps it's time I chimed in!
I was assigned the task of locating a 73 SD and do have a small interest in this one. I will get a glimpse of it today while the truck is at my home picking up another car (Larry the pressure is on!!) I will be overseeing the resto and Nyle is the man for the job, it should be at his the shop in the morning. If all goes well which it should, the car may make an appearance next year at Cobo Hall. Larry trust me when I say "it's in good hands" - also my good right foot! J |

John, let me know when it get's to the shop. In the binder of documents is page from a '95 Auto Trader with your old SD listed. All four (4) SD cars shown in that ad were owned by the same fellow here in Houston. Also included in the binder is the '86 Musclecar Review magazine featuring my SD (well not anymore) under the "Collecting the 50 fastest musclecars" article. Larry, Somewhere I have a copy of Auto Trader from early 96 when they were sill for sale. IIRC it took quite a while for him to sell all 4 as he was asking what at that time was top dollar. Those would be giveaway prices in today's SD market.

yes, the last car he had for sale was a '73 SD red. In 1999, I went to take a look at it in hopes of making a buy. To my dissappointment and in his desperation to sell, he had a local MAACO throw a new but sloppy paint job on it.....basically ruined the car as the original paint wasn't that bad. He wouldn't take any less than $18k.........I passed and bought the sunroof car about a year later for a little less.
The white '73 SD was the first to sell out of the four and sold for $25k to a fellow in Pearland. You might recall this is the same car that was displayed in the Houston Autorama sometime around '97-'98. Some years later it was aquired by John N. aka "firebird2", received the restoration by Nyle at Wing Auto Art and was featured in Pontiac Enthusiast magazine. The blue '74 he had was in the Autorama auction in '97 or '98. The reserve was 15K...I thought he'd lost his mind! LOL!

I had a thought about buying that car, well before the auction and the 15k price tag on it.
I went and drove it and made him a FAIR offer.......... that's about the time he was "losing his mind". |
