Is the thing with the six springs a pop off valve?

Sorry guys in the level shot of the car it looked like a V-8 and a 59 or earlier because the engine has the old style cooling ( gusher reverse flow ) elbow on the front of the head. Also those engines ( V-8's) from 1960 and back to 58 are called the Tempest V-8 so please forgive me it was a honest mistake!

Not busting balls U47, so no worries.

I due believe the picture I posted is in fact an injected engine as there is no blower drive.

The one Jeff posted has a blower.
And the 6 springs thing is a pop off type valve.

I'm pretty sure the pic you posted is the engine that I own. I got to look at a lot of pics they had and they had several of that dragster with a few different engines in it.

Any plans for the four cylinder?
I'd like to hear about any other Pontiac stuff you got from Mickey's estate.

its just a conversation piece as is most of the stuff I got from them. sitting next to it is a 421 sd engine out of one of the swiss cheese cars.
when I bought the stuff I got these two engines, a few sets of sd heads, a couple of sets of nos sd connecting rods, a couple of intakes, a couple of fuel injection set ups, an engine that was maybe a 59 or 60 model (I cant remember now) that had a hilbourn fuel injection setup on it and they said it was a solid 10 second engine. some tachs, guage clusters, more misc stuff.
I actually sold a virgin set of 544127 heads to a guy last week.

Thanks. Are the injectors all small-throat like the original Hilborns were (a little under 2")?

Oh come on man why don't you have that thing in the living room as a center piece?

Love this photo as it shows how most yung 'uns were at cruises, drag strips, and car hangouts back in the day. Everyone knew what a Hemi was, and nothing struck fear into the hearts of owners of lesser vehicles than seeing those 4 famous letters on a vehicle.....

Some interesting pics.

A child car seat from 1957 (yikes!).

1969 proposal for a 1973 pickup.

1969 Skylark being thrown into a turn during a road test.

Another case of Pontiac airbrushing an ad for the Canadian market.

The picture of the Skylark is the reason that my 62 Cat, 69 LeMans, 76 Olds and all my newer cars have Negative Roll Steering. The only exception is my 63 Cat which will be changed when I get around to it. Good thing there was not a video as I bet those poor tires are screaming for mercy! How could they produce such cars, when it is so easy to fix and would not cost any more than they laid out.

I used to see ads like this every weekend in the local papers during my high school and college years. Used to just go walk the dealership lots after hours and drool.
