Had to laugh when I saw this photo -

"Jungle" is wearing a "Chuck Poole's Chuckwagon" T shirt.

That's kind of an unwritten rule among the guys I hang out with. Rather than wearing a T shirt with our own name or graphics we wear shirt's emblazoned with our buddies' (or competitors) cars and logos.

Sort of like going to a concert and wearing a t-shirt of the band you are seeing - don't be that guy!

Both Canadian drivers.

Cool, it looks like that car was sponsored by Larry Hopkins Pontiac. They were in Sunnyvale CA for a long time. I served my apprenticeship next door at the Lincoln Mercury Dealer.

It appears that's a picture of Brutus following the change from Pontiac M/T hemi to a Chrysler hemi.

Yes, The M/T Pontiac script is now gone. Back then to us Pontiac people that was blasphemy. Think of it turning a Pontiac into a Mopar. About equal to a sex change!!!

A early shot when it was a REAL Pontiac;

love the vintage pics. so cool to see pics from the time period.

this is my uncle after he bought my dad's '67 GTO 'vert, 4 speed in linden green/black/black. never had the chance to get it myself, unfortunately. i used to sit in it all the time when it sat in my grandparent's driveway. pic is likely '71-72 time frame. i still remember every little detail about that car.

Can a Tiger climb a tree? That's where I'd be filming from!

The key to survival if the tiger acted up....

Don't run! Knock down the guy beside you, then run ;-)

Behind the scene stills during filming.
At first I wasn't sure these were from the same ad/commercial but the Lic/Tag # is the same.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWisbQns9sI

I recall many years ago at small show in PA JW was in attendance and spoke about using a tiger for a shoot IIRC for 1965.
During which he said something to the effect that the Cat was having a bad day and decided to take it out on the interior and all everyone could do was watch. Possibly this one...

I think I would have very casually made an exit
also wounder how much the contract was changed to use another Tiger in '66

Actually the one car Jim referred to was a hardtop and the cat got upset when they closed the doors with the widows up, then the cat preceded to shred the entire interior.
