Liquid kind, or the solid kind? LOL

We're suppoded to be getting 6 to 12"s of snow late tonight thru Thursday. Snow to sleet to rain/freezing rain and back to snow. All set to head on out and make some money......

Major snowstorm headed here tonight into Friday morning.

My area which is in the northern suburbs of Philadelphia is predicted to get anywhere from 10-14" of snow.

For crying out loud where the Hell is Spring??

Got 6.5" of snow yesterday in middle central NC.
Snowed all afternoon and night at different rates pretty continuously.

Overnight it turned to sleet / freezing rain.
That continued until about 4 or 5 am.
The ice layer has packed the snow down to about 4" accumulation .... with close to 1/2" of ice on top.

Temp is starting to climb - its 30 now and might go above freezing.
High chance of more small snow mid-day and afternoon.

Over in Raleigh to the east - they mirrored the highway parking lot scene like Atlanta had last week.

It was all over the news last night BVZ - looked like a nice parking lot!

What is the issue down there? Doesn't anybody have 4wd/AWD? Can't they slow down? We drive in that stuff all the time around here - hell I trailered a car out of Cleveland years ago in a blizzard where the snow was measured in FEET!

i think just like you do about it - they do it for months on end in other parts.

Up until about 20 years ago we always had at least 2 or 3 snows a year like this and folks could handle it. Most of us loved driving in it.

Its become more of a rarity here - and todays average driver around here just cant deal with it. Especially the under 40's drivers.
Not as many have 4wd back up vehicles as they used to.

I slapped a tag on my Jeep G-Chkee and went out for a drive late yesterday.
And probably will today too.

When i was a kid, we could sled on the roads at least once or twice every year - and every kid in neighborhood had a sled (good old rail type).
They don't even sell them around here anywhere anymore.
you "might" could find one in an antique store

More than an inch or two and they call it a big winter blizzard now.

No work today. There is a tractor trailer ban on all the local highways, plus the manufacturing plant I work for decided to close today due to the storm.

I don't know what time it started snowing last night but we're getting pounded here in Doylestown PA(about an hour north of Philly). A local news station has a camera crew in the center of Doylestown which is about 2 miles from my home and they said there's already 16" on the ground. It's supposed to snow most of the day, then have an afternoon lull and pick back up later today for another 1-3". Enough already!

This was the view out my front door this morning. I opened to door to let the dog go out and do her business. She looked up at me like "are you nuts?"

Easily a foot of snow so far.

I cleared a small path for my dog to try to do her business. She walked out and turned right around and said "screw you, you squat in this crap"!

We're missing out on this one. We've had a bunch of smaller storms this season that may have put down 5-6" at the most in any given storm.
