Mike- see post #376.
Didn't learn much, mainly because removal of all the weights from the CrowerGlide didn't increase its lockup speed much (I had neglected the fact that centrifugal force varies as the square of angular velocity). Also, data logging didn't work. Full throttle only gave about 4,000 RPM and almost no boost, and showed about 300 ft.lb. on the analog device. Air/fuel ratios were around 5:1- still fat but not as bad as the 4:1 at the dyno shop. If I can resolve the data logging issue I might run it once more, trying to tune it for closer to 6:1 air/fuel ratio.

Got it. I missed that post. Hope you can run one more time with a working data logger and a running video. Would love to see and hear it run. Plus, some historical documentation. Best of luck with the engine.

More than likely in this order:

> Down my dirt laneway
> 1/2 mile of dead-end road a mile from me
> 1/10 mile S.Butler strip- 4 nostalgia drag events each summer
> Perhaps- exhibition at Norwalk 2020
> 12,000 ft. airstrip at Loring ME and/or Blytheville AR

The quickchange box will allow gearing somewhat appropriately.

All those will be exciting, but the first one will be special.

I think the car looks (at least) display-worthy at Norwalk 2019.

Since I've already [separately] displayed the engine and the car at Norwalk, I'd prefer that its next time at Norwalk would be for an exhibition run. But as I said, it probably won't happen until 2020 since the car's got to be updated for all SCTA rules changes made in the last ten years, on top of ironing out the new drivetrain.

Understand that's allot to do by August. Think about possibly bringing the engine in running condition and the car of course for a fire-up in the pits. It's allot of work by itself but would be appreciated by many. Might be a nice way to get your routine in order for running the car down the track without actually putting it on the track this year. Best of luck moving forward.

To be really optimistic, I can shoot for having it moving under its own power by June 30th- when there's a nostalgia tenth-mile drag event just 20 miles from me. Even without the latest SCTA rules compliance, I would probably be allowed on the track- all 528 feet of it!

I'm making steady progress on it. Engine mounting, driveline hookup, and a few other items figured out. Some pattern-making and fabrication done. I need to defeat the nice torsion bar rear suspension, since there's only room for a 3" long driveshaft! That will be easy- replace the shocks with adjustable heim end rods- and it's easily reversible for future use.

I respect that thought, but people would honestly appreciate a showing with the car and engine integrated. If you change your mind, we'll provide any support that you need in the pits. And take you with us for dinner.
