Thanks Shiny. it does feel good to finally drive it. Although it is down now for a different cam. I repainted the grilles. Will try to post a good pic of the front end and a closer pic I took of the grilles.

Lenox,

Sorry I just saw you took the time to post front and grills.

Really nice !!

Thanks, that is motivating. I dream about doing the same to mine some day, so I'm really glad you shared these.

Wow, that's a contrast!

Congrats, that took some work!

I'll bet the tach looks great with the top. What wheels?

Thanks for posting

Thanks guys. It has been a long road was my dads car and has been in the family since before I was born. Wheels are just cheap steel 15" wheels until I decide what type I want to run. What I want for wheels will cost about a third of what I plan on spending on the motor. So it will be a while I guess.

Sweet! Love the color and the Judge accent stripe!

I don't think I posted since the stripes, hood tach and wide ovals were added.

That would be my wife behind the wheel smoking the hides after I got out to open the garage door!

Smoking tires, a Pontiac & an aggressive woman - what's not to like?

New guy to the PY forum. Got directed here by gtojohn while I was at his shop, picking his brain!

My car is a 1972 GTO. Originally a 400, but had a '74 455 in it when I bought it in July. Also has a TH350 3 speed with a 4.10 12 bolt posi rear end. (Looking to swap in an overdrive this winter). The color of my car is original and pretty unique. It was special ordered so the trim tag shows a couple dashes for the paint code. I've been searching for the actual color and the closes GM color I have found is a Kimberly Blue I found in a Pontiac color palette from 1962. I don't know what it is exactly, but I like it because it's different.

Happy to join another GTO community. I'm always researching something to death, so now I've found more resources.

Here's a little movie trailer I put together with video of my car.

Great looking car and cool color option! Awesome video too! You came to the right place to find info on your car. Plenty of knowledgable folks here that are happy to share. Welcome to the site!

Super nice ride...brings a tear,to my eyes.
All the great GM design and engineering guys, have mainly left this planet, except for a few.
So glad we can keep these fine examples,on the road,as a testament,of GM dominance of their time.
