Use only non detergent or break in oil for the cam break in and the first 300-500 miles. Regular oil with detergent will remove the cam and lifter pre-lube and hold it in suspension and off the cam lobes and lifters (where you need it). This is critical.

Agreed Stan. I like the idea but had my doubts about the plastic plug. A yoke would be the way to go, thanks.

You left out the word TAPER,
Balls on input shaft and back mainshaft rollers where main and input shaft interface then needle rollers on countershaft and then babbit thrust washers and bushing

no taper bearings in a Muncie taper bearings are like front wheel bearings

Google tapered bearing then come back to that parts illustration and find one

those rollers you point out go on the fore end of the main shaft where its inserted into the input shaft all paralled ground surfaces

google the mainshaft to view the surface

There is NO TAPER roller bearing in OE Muncie application but here we are

As you so nicely posted I never used the word tapered. But you seem to have a fixation with tapered bearing.

You can call what goes inside the input shaft what ever you want. I called them needle bearing.
