That picture is my worst nightmare.
I have a 74 std bore 455 engine I bought for 300 bucks. There was a kid who put it in a 3 gen Camero. It ran 12.20s and I told him to baby it through the season and build it with good rods and pistons next year. Well, it lasted 3-4 races. One day it got tight, hot. He shut it down just before it snapped a rod. One of the rods stacked the bearings. Not sure I can save the crank but I got a RPM intake, 4X heads, factory distributor with Pertreonix and a Lunati .540 cam and double roller chain out of the deal. Block is in sweet shape. I will make a 440 out of it. Need a 428 crank. |
