For what you are trying to do I would consider just buying a Tomahawk. The intake made from SD Daves fully ported HSD.
It will take a whole lot less to get to where you want to be and I bet very little difference in performance.
I ran one down to 11 flat in a 9-1 455 with a 850 DP carb sitting on a 1" Super Sucker on top of a 1" open spacer.
It outran my gasket matched T2 intake with ease.

Hey Paul I noticed in the picture of the manifold you ported for the 315 cfm head the wall between runners 1 and 3 is bevelled to direct more air to runner 1, same is true for runners 2 and 4 with the bevel forcing more air to runner 2. Is this done to compensate (as 1 and 3 are longer runners) to get them to flow more to match the flow of the shorter runners 2 and 4?

"... in a previous intake comparison dyno test on a similar engine with a Tomahawk and a Torker II with a 950HP and 1 " spacer, the Tomahawk was within a few hp of the Torker II."

https://www.sdperformance.com/newsStory.php?newsID=44

In the link note the big difference between the two intakes when a Q-jet was involved with the Tomahawk.

I guess the big question before you spend a lot of time grinding is what are you HP plans? Since an untouched plenum can go 550 or more are you going to be there?

Within that link I posted above...

474ci engine running a set of 290cfm CNC ported KRE D-port heads with 10.2 to 1 compression with a 236/245 duration hyd. roller cam (Old Faithful).

Torker II has a square bore plenum so we installed a 950HP Holley on top of it with a 1" open spacer for the last test. The Torker II didn't disappoint and produced 554hp @ 5500rpm and 584 lb ft @ 4500 rpm.

As mentioned the T-II doesn't need a lot of help and can support big HP and even rival the Victor/Dominator to at least 600hp.

What is does REQUIRE is at least a 1" open spacer to see full potential.

Same with the Tomahawk. IF you really want to get your feelings hurt test a single plane intake with a spread bore carb on it without a spacer. They are bad enough with square flange carbs and no spacer, but the huge secondary throttle plates from a Q-jet ot TQ sticking deeper into the plenum area than the front plates causes turbulence and distribution issues that can cost you a LOT of power.........

I dynoed a 467 with a torker 11 with a 2 inch spacer made 626hp and 605 tq.
With a 950 carb. It surprised me as my other motors was with victor intakes
same carb and HP.
