Oh - and the NMCA awards FST NA 10.5 Winners $2000 in official payout ($500 for runner up, paying down to $75 for quarter finals) , plus contingency money from sponsors based on part usage and sticker placement. Come gitchya' some. Not to answer on John's behalf; I just happened to have the info packet in my wastebasket within arm's reach as I read your question. Well done, John - K

Good Job John! Wanted to stay for the final but needed to get back home for a meeting.
Well deserved after the whole Motorhome/Trailer ordeal getting to the track. Hope Lupi is ok.

Some background: NMCA Facebook page (cut & pasted here) -
August 24 at 8:56 AM: "FST Carburetors NA 10.5 driver John Langer ran into some trouble on the way to the 18th Annual NMCA All-American Nationals presented by Whipple Superchargers at Summit Motorsports Park this weekend when a motorist on the freeway clipped another motorist who then came into Langer’s motorhome and trailer. Langer is sure that the motorhome and enclosed trailer would have tipped had it not been for the large freeway sign that they came to rest upon. The motorhome and trailer were damaged, but Langer’s 1969 Firebird was not, and after talking with police at the scene of the accident, he motored on to the race here in Norwalk, Ohio. It didn’t take his focus from the task at hand, as he flew to an 8.05 and is qualified in the seventh spot with more qualifying to come today." Other background: https://www.nmcadigital.com/2019/06/...uilt-firebird/ Excellent John. Congratulations!

Thanks for all of the kind words. I just keep grinding away at this forgotten brand making all of the fords and chevys nervous when I pull in the gate to a race. Purse was 2k plus another $2400 in contingency. Unfortunately running a Pontiac limits me on the contingency side. My weekend started out with quite the scare. Drifting sideways in wet grass at 65mph in a 72' rig should have made me turn around and go home, but I didn't.

Glad to hear that you are okay and the Bird didn't sustain any damage; hope the motorhome and trailer are not to badly damaged. Awesome job at the track! Wish I could see that 69 make a pass. Maybe one day I can make it to Norwalk.

Congrats John on getting the hole shot and the car running just quick enough to beat that Ford.
