I went to a Burger King recently for the first time in years, and it was awful.
Typical corporate think, it looks like. "We're selling less burgers because this new generation doesn't eat meat." No - you're selling less burgers because your food has turned into crap! 20 years ago, they had decent grilled chicken sandwiches. I was at an airport Burger King about 10 years ago, and asked "Do you have any chicken that isn't deep fried?" the response was "Well, how are we supposed to cook it, then?"

For all the dissenters out there, I just spoke to the owner of the local BK chain, they are selling Impossible Whoppers like they are giving them away. He estimated that at the rate of sales they could run the supplier out of product by the end of this month. The supplier built up a stock in warehouses before BK started offering the product in anticipation of finishing the new plant to keep up with the demand.
The supplier is currently building a new plant in NC to supply the east coast, when that happens the BK franchises will again start selling the Impossible Meat Whopper again. They have discontinued the vege-burger and the IM whopper will be the meat alternative from now on. I also surveyed a middle aged couple that was trying the IM Whopper for the first time in the dining room today. Both said they would have a hard time distinguishing between a beef whopper and a IM whopper. They also relayed they had tried the White Castle version, but hadn't really cared for it. I don't have any idea of what the BK menu is in CA, but the BKs here in Ohio have had grilled chicken salads and sandwiches available as long as I can recall. They just switched suppliers for their grilled chicken within the last year because the former suppliers chicken was inconsistent in quality. I like the new suppliers chicken better than the old one, I just had a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch today...…. |

It’s called Burger King for a reason. Burgers are beef not veggies, freaking millennial crap!
I’ll take a Whooper Jr. hold the pickle, add bacon and extra onion. No mustard either. And real cheese please not that plastic orange square thing you could use to putty holes shut.

The push to have “plant-based meat” replace actual beef, chicken and other real meats is accelerating around the nation.
One common claim is that they seem to have truly recreated the texture and “mouth feel” of actual beef patties. Fair enough, but what about the juicy nature or a real burger? We all know where it comes from… blood. But plants don’t have blood, so how are they getting these frightening burgers to “bleed” when you bite into them? The story behind this fake blood is, if anything, more lurid than the process of making the burger patties. More: https://www.agdaily.com/insights/imp...-burger-blood/ .

Man if any of the talk about plant based proteins makes you sick. My guess is you never have visited a slaughter house before?

I’m sick over what they might be using to look like blood in a fake meat burger. And yes I have, a relative works in one.

MA, it tells you part of a root of the plant. If that is less appealing than people shooting cattle in the skull and letting the blood and bodily fluids run all over the floor that they have to wear knee high boots to keep their feet dry, plant roots make you sick?...………...LOL
You ever been in a tannery? Even worse than a slaughter house. IM has been sold since 2014, I haven't heard of anyone dying or having health problems because of it yet, have you? |

Last week there was an new storey on how synthetic meat was coming fast. Its interesting.
I have a serious issue with genetic modified anything including plants and meats. Just too much not know of how this affects our epigenetics. |

Anything to do with imitation meat is absolutely disgusting. I'm either eating real meat, or not.
It's something I'll never understand. If you don't like/want to eat meat, why try to invent things that look and taste like meat?
