Just polished off a 6-pack of Colt 45's and I can't see the alcohol content on the label right now

I concur. A small, local distillery has release a single barrel 137 proof bourbon. At $75 per bottle, it sounds like the perfect bourbon for a warm, spring evening of sipping on the back deck.

Blatz.....that’s a name that brings back some painful memories!! I’ve used to consume many brats with hot mustard to neutralize the taste of Blatz.

There's so many small breweries around I rarely get anything else. Even our small town brewery has a beer in the 12% range. Though most are between 6-8%. We like to go visit Astoria once in awhile, hit up Astoria Brewing, Ft George or Buoy Beer Co. I was recently in Carson and stopped at Backwoods brewing. Liked what I had there as well. Recently took a trip to eastern Oregon, stopped at several small breweries. Barley Brown's in Baker City was good. I had a jalapeno beer that I swear was nothing but pure capsacin. Also liked Terminal Gravity in Enterprise.

The only thing about winter that I like that will almost make any beer taste better is a nice cold garage beer. Leave beer in the garage overnight and it is chilled to just the right temperature, not frozen just chilled better than any fridge. Kind of like when you go to a restaurant and they give you beer in a frosted mug. Dont forget the beer and leave in garage to long though

Keep up?

Going to the restroom?

I prefer a little whiskey in a glass.

Default Beer

High ABV means nothing.
Big Beers (>8% ABV) generally battle "ethanol bite"

Saturday, I was at Tailspin Ale Fest in Louisville. Most BBA's go over 10%, had one from Ethereal Brewing (Lexington KY) at 13.1% ABV and it was tasty.

Here in Northern Kentucky, Wooden Cask Brewing just released Corruption v2 aged in New Riff barrels, I think it came in at 11.3% ABV and is smooth.

Most DIPAs and Imperial Stouts run 8% and greater.

Frankly, the American craft beer scene is diverse and has infinitely greater variety than any other country's beer scene. I know this by having and tracking over 2000 unique beers in just the past four years. Before that, no records so it didn't happen. I know several guys over 5k beers so 2k isn't special.
In the old days, sure, Molson Brador and Labatt's Extra Stock made American beer look weak, but thats decades ago. Canada can't keep up now.

Old skunk..........

Danes find secret beer trove.
Danish builders have found bottles of beer dating back over a century while carrying out renovation work on an old brewery in the Jutland city of Viborg

A brewery from Norfolk, Virginia, will be releasing a limited-edition IPA beer which will taste like a bowl of Lucky Charms cereal.

Described as “magically ridiculous,” the upcoming beverage is the creation of the Smartmouth Brewing Company and will be named Saturday Morning IPA. A spokesperson from the brewery said that they achieved the unique flavor by tossing in “pounds of marshmallows, some of which we toasted” during the brewing process, alongside Calypso hops, which are naturally fruity. The end result is supposed to be a sweet beer which will remind people of a beloved childhood cereal. The IPA will have a 6.6-percent alcohol by volume (ABV) content and will be released on March 2. Unfortunately, it will only be available throughout the state of Virginia, so beer connoisseurs might have to make a trip.

I recently tried the “420 Strain” beer and it smelled like well it was 4:20. I didn’t much care for it (not an IPA guy) but the novelty thing sure was there as the aromatic hop smelled a bit like ganja! Lol

The Waldo's from Lagunitas is a bit better when it comes to this type of flavored beer. And at 11-11.5% it packs a punch.
