A friend of mine bought the Summit mini starter and ended up returning it because it would not bolt up. I have had the same IMI mini starter on my 65 LeMans since 1985 and it never has skipped a beat. If I was to buy one on for my 67 LeMans I would get another IMI.

I use a mini starter and a metal heat shield( home made) .
Ps when really hot it still turns a little slower than normal.

Skip and I can finally get out and do stuff without sweating! I am trying to get mine running by Thanksgiving. I have a summit starter in the box still so glad to hear good feedback.
