My wife is very tolerant and even "goes for a ride" ever now and then. When we were first married we only had two cars and one was my 69 GTO 4 speed. One day she needed to go grocery shopping and I told her to take the GTO. She came back all upset. Exiting the parking lot was a slight uphill drive. While waiting she let the car roll back into another car and dinged the rear bumper. Of course I was upset and looking back I probably should have been more forgiving.

In our 30 plus years of marriage I don't think she ever had "permanent" garage space. When we built our house she had full control on everything except the garage. She does question my sanity every now and then and the time/money I put into the hobby. But all I have to do is bring up the number of shoes she buys! LOL! Every morning before work I find sales tags on the closet floor from new clothes she bought for that day!

I am much more "reasonable" in my old age about the time and money I put into old cars and spend more time taking care of her.

My kids have all decided which of my cars they want! LOL!

Nothing wrong with your thinking. Even with the son's inheritance.

I've seen many instances where a person in the 20's or 30's was "waiting" for their "money" it all went fast, up a nose or down the toilet!!!

My buddy sold his 72 GTO a couple of years ago, had reason's, but now wished he had not. The dad gum thing sat in the garage, didn't hurt anyone. Can't give any of the reason's, but they pertain to the OP'er's post...

I told my fiancé a few weeks ago that I've owned my GTO twice as long as I've been with her. If she tries to make me sell it I will gladly leave in it.

I'm lucky too. Second marriage for both of us and we both are blessed to have good jobs, so our deal is separate accounts and we both pitch in for common bills (all house and Kid stuff) and the rest is each of ours to do whatever we wish. I have my cars and she has a horse, so we both have our money pits
