You guys are gonna be jealous of the ET/MPH...15.0@92mph. Motor is a tired, original 1966 389 with who knows how many miles. It was a motor pulled from a junk GTO in about 1984, and sat for many years. I have put about 8k miles on it, and used a ton of oil. Someday I will install my 461 though.

My best time is a 14.86 1/4 mile at 93 MPH. That was with bad wheel hop and spin. I still need to learn how to launch this car. My plan is to NEVER go faster than 13.7, technical inspector told me flat out that with a vert they would kick me off of the track at 13.5. To get back on I would need a 6 point roll bar. Do not want to do that with my cruser/show car. All of these pictures are screen captures from the videos.

Radman, consider shooting a PM to Goatless. He posted earlier in this thread, and had 12.5 slips with a vert.

Maybe it's for a closed FAST event or something, but he may be able to give some advice on your 13.5 ceiling.

My Lemans convertible was built to be a reliable street-only car with nothing really fancy under the hood. But I did get it to the track a few years ago just to see what it would do. Fuel flow made it run soft once it got into second gear so MPH was down and very inconsistent, ranging from 95 to 100 MPH. I only made 3 passes- I didn't want to hurt it running it lean that hard.

My best run was a 13.6 at only 95 MPH. I really wanted a 13.5 just to get kicked off the track but couldn't quite get there

It was night and very dark so my pics have a different look than others posted so far.

It's really going to depend on where you are, what kind of event, and who you are running with... and accepting that you may get booted at any moment. If Radman's local track told him in advance that they'll give him the boot, then they probably will.

It probably also helps that my car looks totally stock, including under hood.

My time at the '01 Jim Wangers event was somewhere in that vicinity (didn't save the time slip). At the time, I had the stock numbers matching '64 389 4bbl in it. I had a 462 built and installed over 2 years ago, but haven't made it to a strip yet.

Picture of my former 1997 T/A taken July 2005 at the start/finish line at Eriez Speedway. The photo is taken in my hometown, Erie Pa. The picture of my 1967 GTO #35 in my signature was taken at the same track also at the start finish line circa 1976.

Since I never drag raced, this is the only street car picture I have taken at the dirt oval track where I raced for 11 years. My wife took the picture when we were still dating in 2005.

While going out to the racetrack the previous day I just couldn't resist throwing the T/A around the corners for a lap just for old times sake. My wife/girlfriend at the time had no idea I was going to make a lap under speed.................
I really didn't either, just seemed like the right thing to do.....................LOL

^ Hadn't thought about a dirt track...

My '64 has more laps around Deer Creek Speedway than some race cars...

And definitely has more time in Victory Lane...

My wife and I run the Kids Club at the track and we have a drawing for a Junior Grand Marshall - the winning kid gets their photo taken in Victory Lane with one of the evenings trophies and the checkered flag and then gets to carry the checkered flag on a parade lap during the National Anthem.

My employer sponsors a race in late May every year and I put the company logos on and take a customer around carrying the American flag and have one of my customers kids carry the checkered flag.

Going around the water box at Steele Alabama's quarter mile YEARS ago. I was running 225/70-14's all around. I had a shot as I left the line and one of the car beside the time/speed sign but I've managed to delete them some way or another. I do have the time slip though. 13.31 @ 103.79 with a 2.04 60 ft.

Thanks David!

If I have the "right" kid, I usually ask them if they "want to get behind the wheel". This young lady was one of those "right" kids - and the Kids Club had a face painter (free of charge) for the kids that night too.

Her face "demanded" she get a chance behind the wheel...
