Every thread in the race forum turns into a pissing contest between a few people after about 4 posts lately. I can't wait for warm weather so we can all wrench on or race cars vs keyboard racing.

...and yes I think there will be a few more folks this year that reach 1200 NA on the BES pump which typically is equal to or less than what the track shows.

I would personally like to see Mary and Marty bring their street car to Norwalk and run some 7 second times at ~ 4000 pounds.

Their is certainly the potential for more 1200+ HP Pontiac engines than ever before. At least 3 different cast heads have the potential and with 5-axis CNC, money, and willing shops to take on projects, the sky is the limit. I am only really familiar with Superflow SF900-901 Dyno's. Yes there is easy adjustment designed for calibration that can be tweaked to add-subtract 35-50 ft. lbs. of torque to any dyno pull, either before or during a pull. The "happy knob" as it is often called, I guess is used by some shops to enhance their dyno numbers. What's the point? As has been said, the proof is on the track. To be quite honest, I have dyno'd several engines that come in the door from reputable race shops, and in each case, the results have been close to our dyno. The difference could be attributed to small changes in test conditions. Usually, within 3-5 ft. lbs, of torque at peak. It's not good for a business that builds and tests race engines to become known for having a "happy" dyno.

The dyno will tell you a few things. Peak hp. Peak torque. Operating rpm range and If changes made on the pump increase or decrease desired results. Now if someone jumps up and down and claims exact numbers and the car doesn't show it on the track it either means a) the numbers are inflated or b) they don't have their ***** together... Now back to SJU...
