Well, the artwork is complete.

Going for that old school look, so all is hand painted except the Indian. To small so I had a decal made.

Well it's been a while since I posted a picture, it's starting to come together now. Should have all the water lines completed soon and torque converter will be here Monday!
Next task is header fabrication and exhaust.

I'm trying and hoping for this year, headers, exhaust, and an oil containment pan will determine the time line.

It's a good feeling to see the car finally coming together.

It is a 1 coat water borne base coat with a solvent born clear coat. 1st car time I ever seen how a water base is painted, looked like the wrong color when sprayed until the clear is applied.

Lots of pearl and mica in the base, it's one of those colors that touch up stands out like a wart. lol

Could never figure out the benefit of Water Base paint....when you put solvent base clear over it ?....I have been painting cars since 76 and still spraying @ 61....... mostly 2 & 3 stage paint.....and some Kandy Stripes on my sons new Camaro.....Candys are another Non- Forgiving PITA ...Just keep yours off the guard rail ..and you'll be fine. What kind of times are you looking for ?....should be quite a ride !

I'm not trying to break any records with my build, just an old school bracket car.
Hopefully fast enough to get the heart pumping! lol...

I painted a Camaro back in the 80's with candy Z28 stripes, wow that was allot of masking and fine line. White, Silver, Gold, Tint, Clear, Wet sanded between each, I give you credit, I will not do that again.

True that......but nothing comes close to a candy color ...as far as flip and color angles....but the spotting in of a repair is what scares me. I can blend today's Tri-Color Pearls without a problem....but the candy is a whole nuther Animal. You picked a good year Pontiac to Hot Rod ....I have a 67 GTO.....and I think that was the last good year of the GTO...

The Bright Idea fired for the 1st time last night, so I had to take it around the block once for a maiden voyage.

All went well, and WOW is it loud!

The neighbor had to come over to tell me that it shook the plates in his kitchen cabinets when I drove by.

My choice of mufflers don't do much. (lol...)
