Is there a safe way to clean these hairy hoses? I picked up a nice used one today.

Try using compressed air and see what it does. This hose looked really bad when I got it, but a gentle cleaning with compressed air did wonders.

Default Part number- hairy hose?

Hi guys,

I just searched the threads and didn't see the part numbers for a '73 TA. I have a hairy hose on my car, it has about 11 metal coils in length. I hate to stretch it out to measure it, but it looks to be the shorter version? Can someone tell me the part number of this hose for a July build '73 SD, 4-speed if that matters.

Thanks,
CLW

Thanks for that, mine has 13 ring corrugations- including the ends. Do you know that part number? Also, should it be the "hairier" hose, with the fibers mostly on the outside?

P/N should be 489908. For 1973 it should be the hairy exterior with thirteen sections.

Bob - Hairy exterior? Did you mean feathers? Hopefully you are knee deep in those about now...I don't want to hear about a Cheney, if you catch my drift...

Chad

Here's the entry on that part number

489908 3.417 All A, B, F DUCT, air intake flex 1 1973 1975 **3-25
