I too used dynamat and dynaliner as HWYSTR455 for both sound and heat reduction on my 63 Catalina with a 421 and a Tom Hand VOE. The floor was taken down to bare metal, seam sealed where necessary then primed. After completion, then dynamat applied, rolled and also applied, over the dynamat, the dynaliner in areas where passenger feet would rest.
Works good. And, where the floor (feet area) used to get warm on extended trips, it now stays relatively cool. I also used 3M body coating on the underside of the floor pan. |

I've used a combination of Dynamat, Dynamat Xtreme and Dynaliner on 3 different restoration projects with good results.
On my latest project, I've decided to try Lizard Skin, using both the sound deadening and heat barrier spray on material. Once the car is done I'll be able to offer an opinion on performance but I will say it was easier to spray the stuff on as opposed to sticking on the Dynamat! |
