If you experienced low oil pressure and replaced the lifters and the pressure went up I don't think it was due to that very small oiling hole. It may have been due to the different metering rate of the lifter or maybe another change was made at the same time you changed lifters.
I can only speak from my expierence. I have no idea why the oil pressure issue went away. The only thing changed were the lifters that time. They were Howard lifters on a Howard cam grind 302/312, 268/278@.050. .572/.572/108 cam in a high winding 11:1 350. Spring pressure was set at around 140lbs seat and about 350lbs open on the Brodix heads if I remember correctly. Maybe they were junk lifters from the get go?

What spring pressure would be considered close to wiping lobes on a SFT cam?

Over 400 LBS. open pressure. Personally, I believe it has more to do with spring rate, than actual pressures. I spring solid flat tappets[depending on their duration at .050" and advertised duration] between 140-170 lbs. on the seat and 350-400 lbs. open. The closer the duration at .050" is to the advertised duration, the faster the lobe accelerates the valve, and the more spring pressure it needs.

Now, if you look at a Dodge slant six, they had solid flat tappet cams in them, but they were so mild that they get away with very low spring pressures. Something like 60-70 lbs. on the seat and maybe 200 lbs. open. They would run forever with that.

Dang Tim, if I would have known that 2 weeks ago I would have bought a set from you for the clone.

Wouldn't happen to know if they have the disc type check valve or a check ball would you? And the metering valve disc, is it with the 4 holes?

Think the 60310 would do you right, and your gear should soften it off the line a touch, help prevent wheelspin some. Some.

Could even go 60311, it will run power brakes, but it's a little more 'cranky', if you can handle that. This one will be more sensitive to static CR, with e-heads, I would say min is like 10.5, 10.75-11 would be better.

Might be better with a custom grind, filling out the form as Singleton suggested isn't a bad idea, then call after you get a response to discuss, they may mod it some after talking to you.
