"Cliff, when i had the friend of mine build the motor i was copying your build except i'm running a Torker 1 and Long branch manifolds"

The Torker 1 will cost some ET once you start running DOT's or slicks, IMHO. I tested several single plane intakes on my old 455, and it immediately slowed at least a tenth in 60' over my ported stock intake. They also require a 1" spacer to make best power with a Q-jet.

This becomes a slight problem if you have the 74 GTO Shaker set-up, and cobbling custom parts are required to get the hood to close.

For the number crunchers, we dyno tested a stock Torker 1 against my ported stock intake, on an iron headed 455 (ported 670's), and 247/254/108 Crower cam. It made just over 400hp with the Torker 1, and just under 460hp with the iron intake. No spacers were used on either intake. Yes, nearly 60hp difference between those two intakes on a back to back dyno test. Years later, I know that adding a 1" spacer to the Torker 1 would have made up at least 2/3rds of the power difference, if not more. We didn't do that test simply because a 1" spacer wouldn't have allowed the intake to fit the vehicle it was going to be used on., at least not without modifications.

I have seen some very successful set-ups use the Torker 1 over the years. The "hot ticket" was to obtain two of them, and weld two rear sections together, nearly as I can remember?........Cliff

The old school 455 set up is a lot of bang for the buck ! Congrats on your times and being able to do it with other Pontiacs.
