Thanks!
Was not aware that any 72 GTOs were built orginally with black grilles. Can anyone confirm this? Though they were all silver/grey ish

Have seen many over the years painted black but, not manufactured that way. Would like to know for sure.

I've been in touch with the gentleman that built this car, and it's a beautiful vehicle which he has since sold. It's all about personal taste, and although I like what he did with it, I won't be doing the same with mine.

It is however a fine example of a very neat '71.

Nah... gotta have a hood tach to look at thru the windshield on '71-'72's. With that long flat hood, there's nothing else to look at out there!

Besides, with the tach on the hood where it belongs, the clock has its place to go in the dash...

There was a Lucy Blue with blue buckets interior with automatic, center console, AC and Honeys sitting right next to the Adriatic Blue/Cameo White top two-tone LeMans we came home with. I'd love to have a photo of that line of cars from that day. My sister didn't want that 'drag racing console' and hood scoops!! I was drooling over it. Dad knew better than to get me that car.

You were born in a truly special time. The cars now just don't do that for me.

I know - I just wish I had known it at the time so I could have savored the experience a little more...not to mention buying a bunch of cars back when they could be had for cheap!
