On the original cam gear... yes, they were nylon originally. Better check it out to be safe. Here's what mine looked like at 57K...

When you have it driveable bring it too the Suds in Greenwood.

Great find, especially in central Indiana!! Welcome! You'll find many memebers here that are an endless source of info (Mike Nixon especially) on your GP. Man, I WISH I still had my Anaconda Gold'72....

Grant, thanks for the info....I thought so, my past experience with Chevys that was one of the first things I always did. The front crank seal is leaking anyway, and I would feel better knowing for sure.
