My Fav. was always the early dual gate with the key, never a runaway seller, it was just a forecast of things to come: Original painting for a magazine ad.

I can't believe that he did the Jaws of Life! They saved my dad from his car wreck about 10 years ago ... God bless him for his desire to delve into many different areas.

I believe it was called His/Hers when sold as aftermarket, and Dual-Gate when factory-installed.

Mike ... thanks for that. My dad is very old and in the hospital and after speaking with him tonite and hearing in his voice that he's worried about this being the end I was tearing up ... so this in a strange way is very cathargic for me.
God bless you this day!

When it comes to Hurst, this thread could go on for quite some time. Hurst was into everything and was truly a powerhouse back in the 60's and 70's. They were a big-league marketing machine as well.
Good Hurst stuff here: http://www.joiesjeeps.com/HURST_MUSEUM/hurst_cars.php

Steve, thats a very neat old treasure (the letter) you posted.
I have some old HURST items as well, but more commercial like Clocks and advertising items, few old shifter handles and packages. I found an old speed shop shifter display Ive been thinking about buying...really nice shape . A really cool item. Didnt see many like this that had the HURST shifter levers mounted and tranny patterns that alllowed a customer to shift through the gears in the store. Jeff |

Jeff, that shifter display sounds like a rare piece.
I'd like to see some pictures of it if you get it. Steve |

I have some pictures , and in a short while I will post even if I dont buy it, plus the other stuff I have.
I have a few Linda Vaughn signed HURST die cast cars she did at different events. I like those old HURST wheel cans. Anyone know how much they sell for (empty) these days? Great idea for the thread, too! Jeff |
