I hope I'll be excused for "hijacking" this thread for a minute-
I thought I remembered a "new product" item in a magazine a few years ago, about Schubeck "roller lifters without rollers", but don't see anything like that on their website. I have a mental picture of a non-rotating (linked?) lifter with a non-metallic radiused foot (composite?) shaped like the bottom of a roller lifter's wheel. Am I imagining this?

The hyd cam may need slightly more spring seat tension, all else being equal, when using solid lifters with it. This is because the hyd cam ramps are shorter & more 'shock' is imparted to the solid lifter because it doesn't have the internal oil cushion that a hyd lifter has. The result will be most likely be valve bounce as the valves seat, & stronger spring seat tension will fix it. May not cause a problem, much would depend on the cam profile, rpm ceiling & current spring specs. Run tight lash as recommended by others. With 0.006" - 0.010" lash, the cam will act about 5 -8 degrees smaller than if it was used with hyd lifters.
