I always wondered how a 69 RAIV Firebird would look in black, black vinyl top, with black wheels, poverty caps, and Goodyear RWL's. Hmmmm.....I WAS thinking of repainting my car anyway
Hey Mike , there is a all black 69 RAIII bird , 4speed w 3:90 , and in dash tach and gauges and yes it is really a RAIII car with the induction system .Car is a extemely original rust free car that will soon begin a restoration .

Pretty much. It's a tubular front subframe from TCI and the engine is an LS1 out of a new GTO. I'll post some pictures after a while.

I put the 400 engine and trans out on ebay a couple days ago. I'd keep them around in case he sells it but I need the money to work on my 69TA. Got a long long way to go but the rear wing I bought from you was a big step forward.

JTTRETTEL - He said $20K and it all yours. You have to find a new A/C suitcase for it (sold) and a new rear posi differential (original is Keystone Wire Corps. furnace by now). Before you get worked up, it was a ZC 2.78 not a nodular iron 4 pinion ZH or ZK.

No thanks, remember I am not a hardcore original type guy, so it is not worth that to me in its current state. Also, you can buy one that is done for $20k. Hopefully your buddy didn't pay near that much for it. Tell him good luck with the project.

The wheels would be black on a 69 Trans Am. But PLEASE don't do this, I think it's one of the most hideous combos I've ever seen, including a yellow 74 Formula I once saw with yellow wheels and poverty caps. Just not a good look. These cars are too classy to have taxi cab wheels.

It's like putting black and white wingtip Florsheims on Kobe Bryant, and sending him into the ball game.

i had a 69 t/a years ago that come with the poverty caps. it also had trim rings which added a better look, (but not desirable in my opinion). i bought it from the original owner and he said it was that way when he bought it off the dealer lot. i assume the dealer threw them on it to dress it up a bit.
