Milt had told me the story of what what happened to that car several years ago. I at first thought maybe it's been unearthed after 35 years(like Arnie's 63). Oh well , what a shame that deal was. Nonetheless, your project sounds really cool, good luck. By the way ,the car that Milt is racing against in that picture is another famous car . Thats Ben & Dave Wenzel's Z28, which Ben bought new for racing. He won stock eliminator at Indy in 68 and they still race this car competively to this day. Keep us posted on your progress............Bill

Progress update...the car just returned to FAST from Dave Neal Fabrication in Columbus IN where it recieved a rollbar that is a work of art. We are ready for final blocking and panel fitment. Milt is coming down tomorrow to help finalize the paint scheme. It seems only one photo has survived and Milts memory will dictate the final layout. The goal is still Pontiacs In the Park in May. If the car makes it I'll be there as well, beating on our 11 second, 120 mph, 4200lb CanAm.

What exactly do you plan on "beating"? My CanAm, your drivetrain, or the competion!

As long as the tire doesn't fall off again, YOUR body should be safe! The competition will be safe as well. I guess that leaves my drivetrain to beat on! A car buddy once put it in perspective for me, "ain't nothin' I didn't buy once that I can't buy twice!" True.

There hasn't been much to update lately as Milt's car has been waiting to get assembled to the frame and moved into the paint booth. Paul (PaulatFast, also 2manygoats) planned to get on it this week. Unfortunately, Paul suffered a heart attack Tuesday and screwed everything up. Fortunately, Paul's recovery is coming along very well and Doug (2manyponchos) has been talking to Milt about a plan to keep the project moving. We'll update progress on the Royal GTO as things get going again.

This project has taken many turns. Kevin sold his interest in the car to Milt. 2manyponchos, (my nephew Doug Pulskamp), came on board to help financially and phisically in my absence. My health issues prompted me to jetison several employees and slow down a bit. The rolling chassis was on display at the GTOAA Convention in Columbus, the body was bolted on and one of my race engines installed for Milt to display at Norwalk and several other shows, including The Woodward dream Cruise and the Classic GTO Weelend in Detroit. When the car was returned, we got back on it.
The car is now painted. We will be installing the glass, then it's back to Milt for assembly. Any of you guys in the Greater Detroit area that want to help with assembling the car should contact Milt, it would be appreciated. I'll have somebody smarter than myself put up a few pictures.
I have donated a lot of time and effort to this project, I think it came out nice.

Ron, and everyone involved, looking good. I met Milt at PITP this past year and to watch him check the tune-up on Bruno's 69 Ram Air IV GTO was something to behold. Milt is first class and if my work schedule permits hope to go back again this year.

Cool photo (the original photo in the first post).

I was intrigued (and gratified) to see the car in the far lane, that Milt is running against.

Dave and Ben Wenzel are from the middle of Michigan's lower pennisula and did very well in the stock car ranks back in the day, as evidenced by the following advertisements. They also were the recipients of a factory ZL-1 Camaro for the '69 model year but didn't like it as well as the "old car" so they went back to running the '67 pictured here.

And - to stay out of trouble and bring this back to all things Pontiac - check out the class winners and see who the BB/F winner was...

Oh, and kudos for - and good luck in - bringing this significant old Pontiac back to life!
