Could not agree with more , everybody wants it but has no cash or they want it for nothing . Tough car to sell since not a original 400 car . Good car for the money .

Just a bit of advice. For starters your car looks really nice and I'm definitely a fan of the 68 Bird. But if you're trying to sell it, there are better ways.

Please try to take this as constructive criticism and not an insult. First of all I have LOTS of experience buying and selling cars. I've bought and sold lots of older cars and made really nice profits on some of them. Just recently my buddy asked me to help him sell his 69 Chevelle SS. He wanted to get $20K for the car and I got him $25K. Needless to say he was more than pleased.

Here's some helpful advice. Fisst of all get that car washed. Not to break your stones but it takes about an hour of your time to vacuum the interior, wash the car, dry it off, and then hit it with a spray type detailing wax. That hour can work wonders for the car.

Secondly, take LOTS of pictures. Again, I'm not trying to sound like a jerk but I'm not spending $20K for a car after looking at 4 dusty pics. Take LOTS of pics. Detailed pics of the body, the engine compartment, and the undercarriage. Hell pay a local shop $25.00 to put your car on a lift so you can document how rust free the floors and frame rails are. Again, not busting your stones but this is how you get people to spend that kind of cash for a 45 year old car.

Thirdly, take a video of the car. I took a video of my buddy's Chevelle and attached it to the ebay auction and got the guy $5,000 more than he hoped to get for the car.
Let people see how the car looks and sounds....listen to the cam in my buddy's Chevelle. Sounds pretty nasty right. You can't get that sound and impress people with 4 dusty pics.

Here's the Chevelle video..

Also about 3 years ago I decided to sell my 86 Mustang GT convertible and get back into Musclecars. I bought this car for $4800 in central Jersey. All I did to it was replace the quiet Dynomax exhaust with a Flowmaster cat back and ended up selling it on ebay for $7500.00. Again with the cam sound....this Mustang had GT-40 aluminum heads and a Ford Motorsport E-303 cam. Sounds real choppy and healthy. But it sure sounds good on video and helped me get about $2500.00 more than I pad for the car.

Here's the Mustang video...

And lastly, give ebay a try. I know lots of people hate ebay but I've had nothing but good luck selling on ebay. What's my formula?? I take LOTS of detailed pics, I insert a video of the car into the auction, and I write up a HUGE detailed description of the car. Think about it, you want to sell a 45 year old car for $20K. You HAVE to convince people to want your car, that they need your car. And lastly you have to convince them to part with their hard earned $20K.

Like I said, I'm not looking to bust your stones, I'm just offering you some advice for a better way to sell your car. I don't live too far from you, if your desperate and not sure what to do I could always help.

Very nice Firebird. Try selling in Hemmings or E-Bay. On this forum your chances of selling are slim as you are not reaching enough people. Ebay reaches a world wide audience and Hemmings reaches the collectors with cash.
