I waited for 5 years for Dave to work thru his issues and deliver my heads.
Very happy with the heads. If I can wait that long (when a man is down on his luck, maybe a few others can too). Just saying. Tom V.

I run a company. 2022 set me back a couple years. It's rough out there.
I am watching a quantity of beer house restaurant type businesses with super high property taxes fail. It doesn't help that our neighbor state shut down commerce for many months, and those businesses burned up any reserves they had trying to cope. |

Ive talked to him,thought emails this week. they are up and running.
Speaking of delays, I gave him my 71 HO aluminum intake to get CNC ported back in 2018 when I was in Abbottsford BC launching the new Honda Goldwing. He has assured me there is still just 1 hours of hand work left to finish it ! In fairness to him he had to weld a divider plate back in that the previous owner butchered. I already have a set of his 260 CFM CNC ported Iron heads , I knew that Dave was busy , unlucky, and overloaded with work so I had no expectations in terms of turnaround time. Right now im more bummed by the shortage of roller camshaft cores at all the cam grinders than the 4 years waiting for my intake at Dave's Peter |

Glad to hear he is up and running. The parts shortages are one thing and will eventually shake out. But a talented porting shop with a great reputation forced out of business by weather related devastation would be just terrible.

If I understood the trail of damage caused by the first mudslide many years prior, Dave lost his CNC program files for porting the iron heads he was performing for me. So that adds a hundred (s) hours? to run the mock ups on the mill, and begin to get your tolerances sorted out?
Any which way you break that challenge down, you can't recover that expense to re-write the files. Yeah, agree we can't be whiny, patience is the challenge our era. |

I traded some messages with Dave a little over a month ago. I won't go into what he shared, but patience is appreciated. Dave is a great guy, and is trying his best to get caught up. I'll always use his services when I can.

I've been emailing with Dave lately. Most of the mudslide has been dealt with and his place is looking better. He hasn't been taking on much new head work as getting parts is so challenging. Everything thing from castings to retainers are back ordered. (I waited 9 months to get my KRE's. They arrived 2 weeks ago! Yea!)
His youngest boy has taken an interest in head porting and has been working in the shop. Dave says he has an eye for the detail work and follows directions well. (I know we all wish our kids could that.) He has completed the engine Dyno installation and has been putting it to good use, averaging a dyno job a week. He took the camshafts off the website due to supplier issues. Please join me in wishing Dave and Lisa, as well as the rest of their family, a good 2023.

Thanks for the post. Dave has always been there to help us. They have been through lots over the past couple of years. A big Thank you to those who have stepped forward with financial help when asked. He has definitely been a big asset to us Pontiac folks. We visited him and his family this past summer and they have done lots of work in the yard to prevent further incidents. Thanks for all your help over the years Dave.

Wish them well. I cant imagine the destruction. Then I watched Highway through Hell. Last year that devastating rain and washouts was something.

Steve, thanks for providing the link. I just made a donation for Dave and was shocked that Gofundme charges a 16% fee on top of the donation. I don't mind so much because Dave really needs the help but WOW.

On their website, Dave posted Jan 31, this year, their situation. Not a lot new, but news. of course insurance companies will NOT overcompensate Dave and Lisa because they are such great folks.
I'm still praying for a bunch of greatness to come out of this deal, Please, Lord!!!
