QUOTE=grivera;6478263]How about an M6907 - Too much fora QJET? $115 at Summit
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/crt-m6907[/QUOTE] The M6907 is a 40 GPH pump as well so I would say no. I think this one comes with 1/4" lines which makes it a nogo for this cat. https://carterengineered.com/mechanical-fuel-pump-m6907 |

Did you have to use a regulator with any of the carbs?

So.. I've in the past had one of those clockable Holley HP pumps. I could never get the durned thing to stop leaking. Gasket always looked fine but it always seemed to leak where the two halves joined. And RobbMc.. I'm sure he's a great guy. Always hear good things about his stuff. But once upon a time I ordered his starter he used to make. Thing was always going wrong. I had replacement bits from him like twice until I just gave up and ordered a mini starter from our sponsor that has worked for the last -- like -- 18 years or so now without complaint. So, probably irrationally, I'm unlikely to take that RobbMc pump option. I'm probably going to wire in a pusher electric on the WOT switch and live with that until I am ready to get a new tank and lines with in-tank and external regulator. Maybe at that point I'll try to hide the regulator in an old fuel pump body just for giggles. Sam

The part number was TLB-05. But it says sold out on their web site. I am sure someone else makes it for them for Inline Tube. But no other markings on it. Imperial Benders are the Cadillac brand but around $100.00 for a 3/8" one. This one was great for 1/3 the cost. Pic of it on their web site.

The Holley "Red" and "Blue" pumps for years were sold.
"Red" low pressure Pump. "Blue" higher pressure pump. Both were barely useable as the internal Valves in the pumps would easily get contaminated and stick in the "Leak" by the vanes" without pumping fuel. The newer pumps are far better at moving fuel using battery power. The Aeromotive Electric fuel pumps can move a lot of fuel but are overkill for a typical street car. Aeromotive on one end and mechanical fuel pumps on the other end. I went with the Tanks, inc internal efi fuel pump. Tom V.

I recently rebuilt an M6907 and hand-bent a line using a spring tube bender and aluminum thick-walled 3/8” tubing. At the pump output I used a 90 degrees not to inverted flare fitting.

I've run 10.0 in the quarter using a Holley Blue pump and currently running a Mallory 140 with same ET at 3580 lb race weight.

Sam, if you eventually go the in tank route, you don't really have to hide the regulator inside a dummy mechanical pump. It's so crowded in that area on a Pontiac, you can simply mount the regulator where the stock pump would be located, and bend a steel fuel line from there up to the carb.
I've done several Pontiacs that way and with the stock appearing fuel line in place no one even suspects anything or even cares to try and look for the fuel pump. It's so difficult to see around that area with a PS pump in place. In fact it's so crowded you have to crawl under the car to access it and make your fuel pressure adjustments. Not a big deal as that shouldn't have to be visited often, but shows this isn't something that is easily seen or even touched from the top side. |

That should read “a 90 degrees NPT to inverted flare fitting”

No...heres a thread when I was thinking about trying a rob mcc pump. Never did use it and am still running the carter. The 11 sec runs I mentioned was with a auto tran and 3.70 rear gear, sticky tires but same car.

Where is the M6907 flow rating of 120 GPH shown? All I can find is 40 GPH minimum flow at 6.5psi directly from Carter.
Not saying that the 40 GPH is right or wrong but I'll post the link again. https://carterengineered.com/mechanical-fuel-pump-m6907 |

Run one of these with a stock pump and you can support 1000 horsepower !
