I also have a Superwinch. It has been trouble free for a few years. Obviously not used daily, but I've pulled cars without wheels and tires onto my trailer without trouble.

Is the remote on sale too? I never got one. What's it's range?

I think I saw it in there but don't remember price probably 39 I can use my remote on my 42' flatbed and have two cars to load and can stand outside the back one so it is pushing the front one onto the trailer and it works fine. (as long as your battery is good)

Remote is under $40 - you can use a 20% off coupon - it works for me with all the cable deployed from the 12K winch inside my 34 ft. enclosed car hauler trailer.

Of course - some folks might call the HF Tech Line - they will probably take issue with that ....,,,

Jim
People don't take issue with your opinions. We appreciate your experience. We also appreciate others opinions, including the techs that deal with HF winch issues every day. It's called crowdsourcing. The process of these forums is to gather up experiences and opinions of many so that a greater understanding can be reached. It's not Jimsourcing. If it is a waste of your time, don't feel obligated to respond. Everyone who responds may not have the benefit of your experience, some may have a different perspective. I learned a lot from all the responses. I am as thankful for their responses as I am for yours. Your comments attempting to smear me for seeking additional information on this topic reflects negatively on you.

Keep an eye on the warranty. I use HF winches for a few different applications (two trailers, plus a 120v one on an indoor lifting situation) and the 120v has a really short warranty. But overall, I'm happy. I also use a 15,000lb Warn on a tri-axle equipment trailer, and once with the pulley block in use, pulled a truck in two that I was getting out of the dirt.

Pulley blocks are your friends.

For the first few years - I used to buy the extended warranty - but I never used it.

If you decide to buy on - just get a (1) year - you only get (1) replacement winch
in any warranty period.

I usually use my winch for (18) months - then gift it to a customer.

Hello Sir,

I use the 9000lb Badlands winch on both my open & my enclosed trailers. I have an extra owners manual I would be glad to send you!

Give me your name & address in a P.M. & I will send it to you!

God Bless

If you want to order parts, the manual has the parts list as well as where to call to order & a blowup of the winch disassembled.

I don't know why anyone would not want to have the manual if it was available. It is not about knowing how to operate it

God Bless
Bill

I believe the 12,000# winch weighs 86 lbs, the 9,000# is about 15lbs lighter due to the one size thinner cable. I personally don't worry about tongue weight as the lighter of my two trucks is rated to haul a 15,000 lb trailer.

God Bless
Bill
