Bruce, as exhaust gases flow past the valve guide area,a low pressure area is created, causing oil to pass through the valve guide and into the exhaust.

The guy that did the heads on my son,s Tempest turned the guid boss down and installed Chevy seals. I have not had the valves out, so I can't tell anyone if it works or not.
Bob ,have you ever used Chevy seals?
