550 HP????? You do not need much of a head for that, or 12-1 CR.
I am getting at least 550hp out of iron HOs on CA pump gas.
Bone stock E heads or High Ports will get that with the right cam easy.

Yeah I am aiming for 550 as a base line that way if it didn't make that I wouldn't get so damn depressed over not making lets say 560 I know the block limits are 800 hp if i am lucky and have a block that isn't weak at the mains.

E85 is my plan too. I just need to pick up a good E85 carb.

You don't need that much compression, or cam.
My combo was with 87cc heads, and ran on pump gas. My cam was a 254/262 - .600 lift.

This was built back around 2000, much better cam choices today. Now I'd use a hyd roller that's smaller than my old cam, and it would go quicker.

For 600hp or less, pump gas is all you need.

Well don't get me wrong I would love to have 700 HP on tap try and show these Turbo Chevy boys that Pontiac's are a force to be reckoned with. But I know my stock block will be the weakest link in all of my engines combination. This is why I set my self a wheel horsepower rating of 550 hp NA then add the 250 shot of nitrous on top of 550 which if I have read everything right leaves the engine in a safe zone and obviously if the engine makes more power in NA form lower the dose of nitrous.

ANY number you get on Larry Meaux's SF 600 bench you can take to the bank.

Larry, myself, and a bunch of other guys with Flow Benches did a Nationwide Calibration
check using a $3,000,000 Flow Bench as the standard and Larry's bench was very close in accuracy to that bench.

Tom V.

I am also a fan of the HP casting as I feel it is an upgrade for a bunch of people over a basic "Summit" E-Head without a lot of work. I would take the flow numbers from the supplier with a grain of salt as they do not match very well in given spots on the air flow bench curves compared to a bench like Meaux bench. The difference is the design of the supplier's bench and the way that it gets the data vs the SF Benches.

Tony B's bench checked out really close too when calibration plates were used to check his bench

I'm using Butler's 320 cfm E heads on a 535, 9.50 140 @ 3200 lbs. 63 lemans. Either head will work well.
