True it looks crap when the tires stick out.

Im stuck with a 10" rear wheel w/5" back spacing

Wonder if 275/50/15 or 275/60/15 will fit under on a 10"

My budget is already blown with this engine build of mine, so no new wheel for me any time soon.

will have to go with the 10s for now.

Them tires are HUGE, I guess your going for a Strip / street car

More Strip than street for sure. I guess everyone has their own
definition of a "street car" though. I've seen 7 second cars with license plates
driven on the "street". Is that a street car? Sure, why not. If it's registered
and insured, it's a street car. I just want some big a$$ drag radials.

Ditto! I am rethinking my logic of trying to fit the 315's though as it may take too much work and money to fit them. I could just ''be happy'' with the 275's but i doubt it!

I'm debating on a 315/60 or a 325/50, I went to summit over the weekend
and looked at one of each. The 315 looked way bigger than the 325.
From a 28" to a 30" tire is a bigger difference than I thought.

A 275 will fit on a 10" rim. That's what I have on mine. you can fit a 295 M/T DR on a Firebird, you just have to trim the wheel well edge alittle to get it to fit. The 295 puts the tire right even with the wheel well and I also agree that when a tire sticks out further that the wheelwell it looks like $h!t.

The 275's WILL work! Jeff Kinsler's car (68 Firebird) uses them and he pulls 1.33-1.34 60 ft.'s (car runs 9.30's). That is the max size tire he can run in the RAM Racing Series.

As long as you aren't putting down some serious power, you should be ok.

I figured they would work but i already have a set of 315/60 BFGDR that i got a good deal on and thought my car would look good with the big tire in there. I may just sell them and stay with the 275's, they just look so small compared to the 295 BFG's and 29X11.5 Hoosier's i have been running for years!

I'm only running low 12's to high 11's (this spring), so no serious power here!

275's will work, I made well over 600hp on the nitrous and I hooked a 275 tire.
No problem. I just want bigger dragradials.

Well according to JBP I should hit 550+ and 550 ft lbs tq so IŽll need some tire behind it.

However there are alot of other issues I need to address before I will be able to "use" all of it

Caltracs are one of these

This car makes almost 1500 horsepower.
He hooks a 275/60/15 tire on caltracs.
Impressive.

Is your car a mono leaf or multi leaf car?

If you had a mono leaf car you'd have to have a plate machined for the gap
on the perch. Make sure you set your pinion angle between 2-4 degrees
negative. Buy the Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks as well. That's what
Caltracs techs recommended.
